Question:
I would like to know if the draw-tite hitch pt# 75578 for my Liberty will actually be under the bumper or will it stick out. I have a draw tite hitch on my 1998 Grand Cherokee and it is nicely tucked under the bumper. I cannot not tell from the pictures online. If it does stick out I can save money and order the Curt 13245. Thanks,

Good news, I can help you figure out how the Draw-Tite Hitch # 75578 will mount on your 2012 Jeep Liberty Sport.
You are correct, if the hitch has to protrude then the more economically priced Curt hitch # 13245 will be a good solution for your Liberty.
I've attached some image of the Draw-Tite Hitch mounted on the 2012 Jeep Liberty for you to take a look at. The hitch does stick out from underneath the vehicle quite a bit, unlike the one on your Grand Cherokee. While it isn't very attractive it can be extremely helpful when looking for accessories for your hitch.
For instance, a bike rack like the Thule Doubletrack Pro XT # TH92BJ needs 5 inches of clearance from the pin hole to the rack, for it to not encounter the vehicle, and with your hitch we know this will work because the pin hole already clears your bumper.
I've linked a few videos of the hitch installations.
