Does the Curt Pop-In Ball C60601 Require Grease on the Shaft that Slides in Hitch

Question:
Besides greasing the ball itself should I grease the shaft with the ball bearings in it?

I checked with Curt and for the ball portion on the side of the Curt Pop-In Ball for Factory Ford and Ram Underbed Gooseneck Hitches # C60601 they recommend to lube it periodically with silicone spray to prevent rust and corrosion.
