How Long Is the TUFFPLATE Finish of a Dutton Lainson Winch Guaranteed Not to Rust

Question:
How does the Dutton-Lainson Hand Winch with TUFFPLATE Finish fare in a saltwater environment compared to Fultons finish on their models. Are they rust proof for the 5 year warranty? This winch looks very beefy but what is the quality of the finish for durability? thank you.

The TUFFPLATE finish of the Dutton-Lainson Hand Winch # DL14825 has a zinc finish that is 3 times stronger than standard zinc plating so as far as corrosion resistance goes this would be your best option.
The warranty information for this winch is as follows:
Dutton-Lainson Company will, at its option, repair or replace free-of-charge any parts or parts found to be defective in material or workmanship under normal use for the period of five (5) years from the original purchase date or, if that date cannot be established, the date of manufacture. This includes a warranty against operational failure for the same five year period due to rust or corrosion of the TUFFPLATE finish.
