Troubleshooting Trailer Harness On 2004 Toyota Highlander

Question:
2004 Highlander V6 I tried to ohm out through from connector to connector and got no reading on of the flow through wires, eg: g-g, w-w, b-b, y-y. i was using the lowest and highest ohm setting. Should I be able to ohm the unit. I have no idea where to check on the Highlander wiring. Ive have the exact same problem on a different trailer last week. Is there any way to check the cabling?

If the lights are not working on your trailer and you are unable to find any current at the vehicle side connector it sounds like you may have a blown fuse. Per the installation instructions for the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness for Factory Tow Package, part # 118248, you will need to find the towing fuse and insert the included 10-amp fuse.
Look in the engine compartment for the fuse. From my research I found that the towing fuse is in position 11. Check the fuse to make sure it is good and replace if needed. If the fuse is blown, you will need to find what is causing the problem. Look for broken, worn or damaged wires or pins on the connectors and repair as needed or you will run the risk of blowing more fuses.
If the fuse checks out okay, you can use a circuit tester like part #PTW2993 to test each of the pins in the 4-way connector for function. If you are getting no current at the 4-way, then the problem is with the wiring between the 4-way harness and the connection point behind the access panel in the rear cargo area on the driver side.
