The modern metric equivalent for your 20.5 x 8.0-10 trailer tires is a 205/65-10 size. All such bias ply type trailer tires of this size that we offer can be seen on the linked page. You can use the filters on the page to select the particular Load Range rating you require. Please note that the camper's dry weight is 995-lbs according to my research but I could not find a gross trailer weight rating for it.
The highest capacity 205/65-10 tire we offer is a Load range E, part # AM1HP56 from Kenda, that has a maximum load capacity of 1,650-lbs at 90-psi inflation pressure. At the other end of the range we have the Load Range B tire # AM1HP50 rated for 910-lbs at 35-psi.
You certainly can use a higher-rated tire than what you have now, and one rated higher than what you actually need. A tire run below its rated capacity will tend to run cooler and therefore last longer since heat is the main enemy of trailer tires. Always keep your tires inflated to the maximum psi pressure rating noted on the tire sidewall. It is never appropriate to under- or over-inflate a trailer tire.
