If you look at page 3 of the attached installation instructions for the Yakima RidgeBack Bike Rack, part # Y02458, you can see a drawing that has a box with 1-1/4 inch in it. This bike rack is designed to fit a 1-1/4 inch hitch if it is a Class ll only. The bike rack will fit Class lll hitches with a 2 inch receiver opening.
You would use the included Allen wrenches to remove the small clip and the larger red adapter on the end of the shank that attaches to the hitch of your vehicle. Once these are removed the shank of the bike rack will easily fit a 1-1/4 inch receiver.
