Features to know about

Get More Out of Every Drive: Class III Strength with a 2" Receiver

This hitch is built for real-world use, whether that means towing a small camper, hauling a utility trailer, or carrying bikes on the weekend. With a 4,500 lbs maximum gross trailer weight and 675 lbs maximum tongue weight, it’s up for steady towing and everyday gear hauling. The 2" receiver size works with most ball mounts, bike racks, and cargo carriers, so you can use what you already have without any adapters.

Built to Last: Matte Black Powder Coat Resists Rust and Wear

The matte black finish gives this hitch a tough look while protecting it from corrosion. It hides dirt, scuffs, and dings better than the usual shiny hitches. The powder coat sits over a protective base layer for extra rust resistance, so it keeps looking good even after years on the road. The round-tube design adds strength and keeps things looking clean under the bumper.

Close-up comparison of matte carbide black and glossy black trailer hitch finishes illustrating texture and visual differences for durability and corrosion resistance

Easy Weekend Install: Bolt-On Design with No Welding Required

You don’t need special tools or a lift to get this hitch installed. It bolts directly to the frame using included mounting hardware—no drilling or welding needed. The precision, robotic welds line up right where they should for a smooth fit. Once it’s on, you’re ready to attach your hitch gear and head out without fussing with complicated modifications.

Solid hitch, install went good- 2018 MKX. Modified the backside bumper panel to fit it back in easy enough. Didn't love the safety chain hookup tabs, they hang a bit low but all the other hitches out there were the same. Went with the etrailer one from past experience in quality and price. Found the safety chains had to be shortened so they didn't hit the ground and even then were too close for my comfort. Ended up cutting the tabs off and welding on loops that went out the sides instead of down and placed them back further from the hitch to resolve that issue. Wish there was an aftermarket one that mounted more like the OEM- would look and work better but a cost vs value deal- OEM was 6x more expensive!

by:

Great product and it was easy to install. Everything came with the kit and I didn’t need to buy anything extra. The utube channel had a video showing complete instructions

by:

The hitch is great and everything fit perfect except for the 8 spacers. They were too large to fit into the holes and I had to trim them down. The bolts fit through the holes just fine. The video shows one screw on each side to be cut off but the hitch has a hole for these screws so no cutting was required. It fits really well and the only part visible is the receiver box.

by:

Excellent materials, heavy welds, ease of installation. Very satisfied and would purchase again.
Video of install is very accurate.

by:

Install straight forward - watch the video. Good product fits well, looks good. Was able to install alone without a hoist. Wife is happier now that the car can pull the trailer, she's not as young as she used to be.

by:

Excellent value for a great product! I love how it hides so well under the rear bumper/fascia. They include everything you need for a complete install. Fast shipping and great follow up. The website is so easy to navigate.

by:

Install was simple,no drilling. Training video was very helpful. Looks good. Works great.

by:

Not that is probably your fault but end you bolt to the car was hanging out of the box doesn’t look damaged scraped paint off but physically looks ok heavy duty product well buit

by:

It is a very robust designed and manufactured hitch. Installation was very simple and the fish wire was just as simple as it shows on the instructional video. Overall very well pleased. The only problem I had was one of the hex nuts was so close to the gusset, I could not use a socket but had to use an open end wrench. The instructions do not state to not reinstall the heat shield but the video does. I used zip ties to secure the bumper cover to the hitch which worked perfectly.

Fits good. Shipping was on time.

Easy to install. Had help from my son. Works great on my 2024 Ford Edge for my bike rack. And ow my little pop up camper.

by:

From the order receipt notice to the delivery...amazing! Impressed with the personal touch of the order processing and tracking. Thanks again for the thorough, high quality videos. The video omitted a step for my 2020 Lincoln Nautilus, but the paper instructions covered it (see photo). The plastic panel is attached to the bottom of the bumper and must be removed/discarded for the installation, and doesn't affect the appearance nor function of the vehicle. etrailer is a class act!

by:

Excellent fit, A few tips if working alone. (My car a 2020 Edge) WD40 the rubber muffler hangers first, use a tie down strap or rope under the big muffler, strap or rope (3 -4 inches below current position., YOU DO NOT have to remove bumper cover, Save the dirt /heat shield that attaches to bottom of bumper cover, ( you will need to cut out the area were now the drop down part of the receiver sets. Cut shield in half, also trim off both ends were one nut held on with the inner fender well Pic H3 This will cure the floppy issue one guy had with the bottom of bumper cover. I had tin snips but a hacksaw will work.
Do cut off the center stud above muffler, that the heat shield mounted too. I placed the right side of hitch on top of the tailpipe/ muffler. put drivers side on a spare jack stand about 4 in down from frame. feed through the clever feed wires on bolts, left the top 2 horizontal ones in frame , attached lower 2 first, be sure to keep one finger on that bolt when you screw off the guide wire. Repeat on drivers side done in a couple hours. Used the premade harness got from etrailer, and it made for fast work in getting light wires attached. First 2 pics looks like a factory install. Thanks' etrailer for your quality products.

perfect fit, easy install, great installation video, THANK YOU! installed on a 2021 Ford Edge SEL

by:

Your excellent YouTube installation (2018 Lincoln MKX) video made a task that might have been super daunting, a lot easier. Minor issue, but the carton it was shipped in was not up to the job!

by:

Install went very good,,high quality product. Shipping was fast. Would highly recommend the product and Etrailer

by:

Receiver comes out below the bumper on Lincoln Nautilus which is pretty low. Works fine for our bike rack but we added a 4 inch rise hitch adapter for luggage rack to get more ground clearance.

by:

So far I love the hitch! It installed easily and looks great. I haven’t had a chance to use it yet, waiting for the wiring harness. But I already love it!

by:

This hitch works great. We bought it primarily to haul our bikes back and forth to Arizona. The fit on the SUV is perfect.

by:

Watch the video that is provided from etrailer. If you do, you won’t have any issues. Took me about 2 hours (getting the bolts thru the frame was tricky, but it slid right into place. Solid build, sturdy, and great product!

It arrived very quickly. The box was torn and the hitch receiver was protruding out of the box. There are some minor scratches down to the raw metal on the receiver and the brackets. I plan to touch up the paint in those areas. The hitch does appear to be very well built and is a quality hitch.

Solid construction. Never had a problem with it. Quality is unsurpassed!!! We will be buying another one for our new car purchase for sure!!!

by:

The quality is very good and the installation process was very easy. I watched the video prior to installing the hitch. It was very detailed and easy to follow. I would definitely recommend the e-trailer which to anyone looking to add a hitch to their vehicle.

by:

Everything fit well , you do have to remove a stud for the heat shield but that’s fine the heat shield doesn’t fit either the hitch on anyways . Good hardware and good fishing wire . I wish OEMs would make it a little easier to install. I had access to a vehicle hoist so that helped out a lot , doing this just on jack stands would have been challenging

by:

Hitch fast shipping Not to bad to install with 1 person. Nice fit. Works great. Have used several times with bike rack

Hey Dan, welcome back! Yes, we do have a trailer hitch and wiring for the 2018 Ford Edge Sport. • 2022 Lincoln Nautilus Trailer Hitch Receiver Recommendation
Hey Al, thanks for reaching out again! I highly recommend going with the etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver # e36RR for your 2022 Lincoln Nautilus because it has the hidden crosstube along with a matte black finish which is superior to the industry standard glossy black coating. The matte black not only looks better but it also does a better job at hiding any scratches from road debris. The only difference is that one is our part number and the other is the Curt part number which is actually listed further down on the page. If you would like to save a little money and have a matte black finish instead the # e36RR will also work. This is the same design as the Curt so the only difference is the finish. • Does Wiring Come With Trailer Hitch for 2024 Ford Edge
Hey Rich! Wiring is not included with any of the hitches for your 2024 Ford Edge. Are you specifically looking for a Class II hitch like the Curt # C12140? Unless you have a real need for the 1-1/4" receiver I recommend a Class III like the etrailer # e36RR instead. The 2" receiver gives you a lot more options for use, and a reducer can be used if necessary. This also has a concealed cross tube for a nice clean look and better clearance. • 2022 Ford Edge Best etrailer Trailer Hitch Recommendation
The etrailer trailer hitch I recommend for your 2022 Ford Edge is the part # e36RR because it has a hidden crosstube as well as a higher weight rating. This means you have a better looking hitch setup with better ground clearance and a higher weight tolerance. The part # e34AR is an okay substitution but it falls short on all of the points I mentioned above. Attached is a photo of both hitches installed side-by-side so you can see the difference.

This hitch fits all models of the 2024 Edge including the Titanium, SEL, and SE.
