Curt Hitch Receiver For Police Interceptor Version of 2014/2015 Ford Explorer
Updated 06/25/2015 | Published 06/24/2015 >
Question:
I have been asked to locate a 2 inch receiver hitch for our 2014/15 Ford Police Interceptor Explorers. We will be using them only for installing a hitch mount bike rack, so will not need wiring for tail lights, Brakes Etc. I have been unable to find anything specifically for the Police Interceptor and was wondering if it would be any different than a regular Explorer. Any help would be appreciated. Thank You.

The 2014 and 2015 Police Interceptor versions of the Ford Explorer use the same frame structure as consumer models so hitch fits for standard versions also apply to the law enforcement vehicles. I confirmed this with my technical contact at Hidden Hitch.
The Curt brand hitch you referenced, part # C13386, is a confirmed fit for both 2014 and 2015 model years of the Explorer. The hitch installs without drilling and includes the required mounting hardware. I have linked for you installation videos for this hitch for both model years.
The link provided will allow you to view all compatible 2-inch Class III bike racks. Filters on the page allow you to sort and narrow the results based on required bike capacity, included features, brands, etc. The linked article on hitch racks will help you choose one that provides a good fit at the rear of the Explorer.
