Question:

I will be purchasing a Ram 2016 3500 w/ 6.5foot bed and 5th wheel/gooseneck prep package. Two questions: 1 Will my current hitch Valley 16K Power Pull Glider adapt to the new truck? 2 Which Curt 5th wheel package would I need if I decide to change hitches? Also, is an adapter needed to for the factory mounting holes? Not sure if it comes from the factory as part of the prep package. Thank you.

Let's start with the Valley hitch. If your Power Pull Glider uses industry standard rails, like part # RP58058, then you could use the Reese 5th Wheel Rail Adapter, # RP30154, to mount your Valley fifth wheel in your 2016 Ram 3500.

As for a Curt hitch, I would recommend the following sliding fifth wheel hitches, # C16521 for 16K, # C16541 for 20K, and # C16546 for 24K. These sliding hitches will require the use of Adapter Rail, # C16022. The factory prep packages do not include a hitch adapter.

Curt does offer a fixed hitch option that would mount directly in the pucks (no adapter needed) but since you have the 6 ft bed, this would really limit your turning clearance so I do not recommend it for your truck.
