Easy to Install Hitch Recommendation for a 2013 Volkswagen Tiguan

How easy is it to install this on my 2013 Tiguan SEL? Do I need the wiring kit if Im only going to be using the cargo rack- do not plan to ever use trailer. I am pretty handy, can I do this myself? Which hitch should I order? Is there a specific size/width of rack I should use?

The etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver # e98906 that you referenced has been confirmed as a fit for your 2013 Volkswagen Tiguan. As far as hitch installs go this is the easiest one to install. It is rated 3 out of 10 on the difficulty scale.

Basically, you will need to cut out the grooved area on the rear fascia of your vehicle and then bolt the hitch into place. You would have no problem doing this.

I attached installation instructions and an install video for you to check out as well.

Since you are only using a cargo carrier you would not need a wiring kit either.
