Advantage to Having a Chrome Plated Ball Mount Over Powdercoat

Other than cosmetics are there any advantages to this Curt chrome plated ball mount over the powder coated version? Is one or the other more rust prone?

Chrome plating will offer a bit more corrosion resistance than a paint or powder coat finish that can be chipped off. Chrome plating tends to be a bit more resistant to corrosion because of this.

The part # C45295 that you referenced would be an excellent choice for a ball mount and hitch ball. I attached a review video for you to check out as well.
