Looking For Brackett For 4-Pin Flat Connector

Question:

Does the 4 pin connector have a bracket so it can be attached to the car without the sloppy look of dangling wirrs?

Hey Dennis, thanks for reaching out. Yes we do have a braket for attaching the 4-flat plug to the car. For that I recommend the following:

- Curt Mounting Bracket for 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # C42CR

What most people do it use self-tapping screws to attach to the crosstube of the hitch. That or you can use a small bolt and nut to attach it to the bottom of the bumper. I've included a few pictures of examples.

What kind of trailer will you be towing?

I've got a small aluminum frame trailer and also at times will be attaching a double bike rack.

Would this hitch also pull a log splitter trailer well under the 2,000 lb limit?

@Dennis Are you referring to the Curt hitch for the 2015 Chevy Cruze? Like part # C11282? If so, yes, you can haul a small trailer as long as your stay under to 2,000 lb towing/200 lb tongue weight limit that will be just fine. Also, the # C11282 hitch is for non-Diesel models.

The Curt Mounting Bracket for 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector (#C42CR) works well with my 2024 Toyota RAV4, which has a Curt trailer hitch. The four-pin connector attaches to the mounting bracket, which keeps the connector in place, so that the connector and the wires don't dangle underneath to vehicle. The only potential issue is that, if you need to get the connector out of the bracket, the fit is pretty tight so that it's not clear to me how to best remove the connector from the bracket if that became necessary -- if anyone has a hint on how to best remove the connector from the bracket, please let me know.

@Henry Hey Henry, thanks for sharing! Glad to hear the bracket is working out and that its holding the plug so securely. That’s pretty typical with those Curt brackets, they’re designed to be a tight snap-in fit so the connector stays put and doesn’t rattle or fall out over time. What you’re running into is normal, they don’t really “slide” back out easily once they’re seated. The easiest way to get it out is to go from the back side and push the connector forward through the bracket, not try to pull it out from the front. If it’s really snug, a small flathead screwdriver or trim tool can help gently pry one side while you push from behind. Sometimes flexing the bracket just a little while you’re doing it helps break it loose. It’ll come out, it just takes a little persuasion since it’s meant to stay locked in once installed.
