Thule OutWay 9001 2-Bike Rack Stuck Strap Solution

Question:

Cables on the lock side wont unwind. They seem to be stuck, or tangled? inside the rack. The lock itself seems to be functioning, and is in the unlock position. The up/down levers do not seem pop up as much as they need to in order to unwind the cables.

I spoke to my contact at Thule and she informed me that for you situation there isn't a fix for your rack # TH9001XT. It would have to be a warranty rack replacement. Since this has a lifetime warranty you should be covered just fine. You will want to contact where you bought this rack from and they will organize the replacement of the rack.

The problem you listed is actually one of the reasons they redesigned the rack to the next version, the # TH9001PRO and then they redesigned it again to the current version, the OutWay # TH45JV. This part number has a different cable system that won't bind up like yours. Take a look at the video of the latest version, the OutWay.
