You just posted a reply to my question regarding Thule roof bike racks. You relied with information concerning the Thule Canyon XT. Can you update your answer to include the Thule Trail XT?

The Thule Canyon XT Roof Cargo Basket - Steel - 69" x 40" x 6" - 150 lbs # TH859XT-8591XT can use the Thule UpRide # TH599000. The shorter # TH859XT will not allow enough space for the bike carrier to fit in the basket and the crossbar spread is not adequate to span the gap.
If you want the bike carrier to ride on bars above the basket for more stability, you would need to use a basket with a crossbar like the Yakima MegaWarrior Extra Large Roof Rack Cargo Basket and Extension # Y07080-82 or Yakima LoadWarrior Roof Rack Cargo Basket with Extension Kit # Y07070-74.
