Troubleshooting Stuck Lock Cores on a Thule Raceway or OutWay Bike Rack

The key will not lock the tie downcables. it will not engage the lock function. Thanks

I spoke with my contact at Thule and she informed me of a couple possible solutions for you. But we before you attempt anything you should verify that the lock core of your rack has the same number etched into it as the number etched into the key.

Once you have verified that the key number and lock core number are the same she recommended you try spraying a lubricant like WD40 into the key slot. You will want to have a straw on the lubricant, and you will want to pull back the flap that goes over the key hole and then spray into the opening.

You should also check to make sure that the lock core is pushed all the way into the rack. If it does not appear to be flush with the rack it will not function properly.
