How to Determine Square Axle Trailer Capacity

Question:

My axles are square and 1.75 inches in each side. I have a tandem trailer So how much weight can each axle hold?

Square axle capacities are pretty hard to determine. Unlike round axles, they do not have set capacities based on their dimensions. But what you can do is give me some exact measurements of your spindle and we should be able to see if there is a hub we carry that would fit so that you could at least get a ballpark on your capacity. Bearing numbers would work as well.

Near the coupler of the trailer there should be a plate or sticker that would have the VIN. There should be capacities listed there.

I need the dimensions of where the bearings and seal ride.

You might be able to contact the original camper trailer company your trailer was built by to see what they say for axle capacities.
