A good axle connection keeps your suspension solid and your trailer steady. This U-bolt plate works with 1-3/4" diameter round axles and 1-3/4" wide leaf springs, using 3/8" diameter U-bolts (sold separately) to clamp everything tight. It’s a simple, proven setup that keeps your parts in alignment and your ride smooth mile after mile.
Suspension parts take a beating, so this plate is made from oiled raw steel built to ASTM specifications. It’s designed to handle the stress of normal towing and resists warping or bending under load. You get a solid, reliable piece of hardware that stays strong through vibration and rough roads.

Hi, everybody. Andy here with etrailer.com. Let's take a brief look at this U-bolt plate. Now, this plate is obviously used with U-bolts to secure your axle to your leaf springs, which are mounted to your trailer frame. And this is going to fit trailer axles with a diameter of one and three quarter inches. And this is also going to work with one and three quarter inch wide leaf springs.
So this is going to attach with two three eighths of an inch in diameter U-bolts. And those U-bolts are sold separately from this plate. And just so you can be confident that this U-bolt plate is going to work for you, on your screen, I am including a diagram with all of the measurements that you are going to need, so you can feel confident that this plate is going to work for you. And this is constructed of oiled raw steel, per ASTM specifications. Well, that's gonna conclude our real quick look today.

SP01-160 U Bolts look to be good quality just wish they came with lock washers.
TRTP200175 U Bolt spring plates work well with these U Bolts. I ordered 4 of these and got 1 and 3 #117594 plates which are very nice and look more heavy duty.
I thought I got stiffed with the one oddball one but I didn't I ordered the cheaper ones and got 3 of the heaver duty ones.
I also ordered #LC281285 Never Fail Tandem Axle Suspension Hardware Kit and one bolt in the kit is to long like its for a 2" wide spring. Guess I will just use one of the old ones I took out.
And 4 #SP-051275 4 leaf double eye leaf springs.
I am redoing the suspension on a fiber splicing trailer that was damaged during hurricane Michael.

E trailer had just what i wanted. It was hard to find a u bolt plate for a 2 inch spring. I called Bill in the parts department and he checked to make sure he had it in stock. That is great service. I had the part in 2 days. Thank you Mike S.
Standard stuff here. These are a little too thin to use to mount the springs on top of the square axle, unless you remove the spring center bolt and insert it through the spring from the other side. They're meant for under slung mount only or I guess you could double them up and tack weld.
Have started replacement, delay due to health, after removing old suspension on one side discovered that the U Bolts and the base plates do not align, the holes and bolt widths are off,no possible use. Compared the old plates to the new which showed the irregular hole pattern. The bolts do not work with the old plates either. So I'm just using the old hardware.

They are better than the old plate. 1/4 " thicker
The zinc plating is very thin compared to the zinc plated u bolts I order with these plates other than that they are as described.
The product is as described.
I had made spacers to sit between the overslung axle and the springs on my 5th wheel (think lowering blocks used to raise ride height) and wanted to upgrade the u bolts from 1/2" to 9/16". This contributed to the conversion. I would have preferred that the plate was thicker material as I could see some deflection when torqueing the u bolts.
Great solid quality, not like some of the cheap knock offs with the added ribs for strength on the lighter material styles. Holes are spot on. Glad I went with these.

The distance between the holes do not match the U-Bolts.. only a couple mm off... but off.. I am underwhelmed as I specifically asked if they would work.
I had to drill out the holes to make them bigger as the U-Bolt doesn't fit correctly as-is. Hard to show in pictures but I think you can see the issue.
I tried to upload the pictures but they would not upload so I am emailing them separately.
Fortunately, drilling the holes bigger seems to have solved the issue, but that really should not have been necessary, especially as I double checked that this plate would work with these u-bolts.
