Keeping the axle firmly attached to the leaf springs is key for stable towing. This U-bolt plate is made to work with 1-3/4" square trailer axles and 1-3/4" wide leaf springs, giving you a tight, secure connection that holds steady mile after mile. It’s the right match for setups rated at 2,000 lbs and keeps the suspension parts aligned and working together the way they should.
A loose or shifting axle can throw off your ride and wear parts unevenly. This plate uses two 9/16" diameter square U-bolts (sold separately) to clamp the axle and spring together with even pressure across the mount. Once tightened down, the assembly resists movement and keeps the load balanced through bumps, curves, and rough roads.

Today we'll be reviewing part number 116308. This is Redline's U-bolt plate for 1 3/4 inch square trailer axles with a 1 3/4 inch wide springs. It's going to be used with U-bolts to secure the axle to the lead springs which are mounted to the trailer frame. It's going to attach with two 9/16 inch diameter square U-bolts. They are going to be sold separately. If you need some of those, you can find those right here at E-trailer.com using part number 175130.
It will fit square trailer axles that are 1 3/4 inches in width and it will work with 1 3/4 inch wide lead springs. The overall measurements of this plate, it's going to measure 5 1/4 by 3 1/2 inches. Again, the diameter of these holes here on the corners are going to measure 9/16 of an inch. If you need the U-bolts that are designed to work with this you can use part number 175130, and again they are sold separately. That's going to do it for today's review of part number 116308. Excellent, the u-bolt plate was just what I needed to repair my axle.
Bent at the correct height so the spring bolt doesn't contact the axle.

If was stuck in the California mountains with an odd size broken leaf spring u-bolt. The measurement information was accurate and the bolt came to me from Missouri to California in less than 24 hours.

Plate good, receiver plug good, U bolt too long, leaf spring different 1 bolt reversed, tires not on other trailer yet.

They the ONLY ones I found that had the right size(apparently, 1 3/4" square axles are not common) as well as the mounting plates at a VERY reasonable price. I needed them quickly, paid a little extra in shipping, got them this morning, and finished the tandem axle trailer rebuild in early afternoon.
Noticed the mounting plates were a full 1/4' thick, much stronger than my old 3/16" plates!

Had a hard time finding the u bolts until I found etrailer.com. They had exactly what I was looking for. The quality of the u bolts, nuts and the spring plates I purchased from them was great. Much better than all the wrong sized ones that I could locate locally. I would definitely buy from them again. Their communication was good as well.
I don’t actually use this for its intended purpose, needed a way to make removable boat guides without welding to the trailer frame. I’m far from a pro welder but it worked. Product was great, looked good and true to size.
