Measurement for Replacement Screen Door Slide LC234101

Question:
The measurment of 9 inches is up and down not left to right horizontal. If the one that is 9 inches, would that be the total, or plus what would go into the felt slide part? If your dimensions would be more specfic as to where they are on the item it would help.

The 9 inches that you referred to would include the part that goes into the slide. I attached a couple of videos to help you understand.
The installation instructions for this item are linked for you and they detail the simple 3-step process for measuring your slide opening to allow you to trim it to the exact size you need. All such slides CAN be trimmed to size.
