I have been told that my CRV will only support a Class one hitch. Is this true?

The Curt Class III Trailer Hitch Receiver, # 13535, will fit your 2005 Honda CRV. The hitch has a Gross Towing Weight of 3,500 lbs., but you will be limited to what the Gross Towing Weight of your vehicle is, which is listed in your owners manual.

The reason they make a Class III receiver is because it has a more common 2 inch receiver opening than the 1-1/4 inch Class I receiver and gives you a bigger selection of accessories to use on the CRV and still be within the 350 lb. Tongue Weight of the hitch.
