Replacement Spar and Pivot Tube Recommendation for Thule T2 Bike Rack TH917XTR 1-1/4 inch Hitch

Question:

Your P/N is listed as a replacement part for the Thule T2 with a 2inch hitch. I believe this P/N also is the replacement part for the Thule T2 917XTR with a 1 3/4inch hitch. Please confirm.

You are correct, I checked with Thule and the Replacement Spar and Pivot Tube # TH28RV that you referenced is the correct replacement part for the 1-1/4 inch version of the T2 Rack part # TH9045 and the 917XTR you referenced.

Hey Tb, unlike many other Thule racks Thule doesn't have a 2 inch adapter that fits the T2 917XTR so what that means is you'd have to replace the shank with the part #753-3581 which basically converts the rack to the 2 inch version of it.
