Replacement Strut/Hinge for a Thule Summit Cargo Box
Updated 12/18/2024 | Published 01/12/2015 >
Question:
They do not make this box any more but I need to know what I can use instead. I broke the strut in the front. It looks like the strut snaps in place without any other hardware. Please help, we love our Thule box and we have all kids of stickers on it. Thanks for your help! Old part number 14908

For your Thule Summit cargo box you can use replacement dual force strut # TH14936. Like you said, the original strut on the box is no longer made so you would need to use this newer one.

old Thule cargo box, 7ft long. hand me down to refurbish. original 'struts' wore out. read your etrailer advice and ordered/installed TH14936 spring hinge to replace struts. lid still closes on me, doesn't stay open. is there a stronger hinge or should I get replacement struts? contacted Thule and they didn't have an answer other than find old-new struts... thnx in advance
