Question:
I have an old thule adventurer cargo box and the Discontinued Dual Force Strut broke. Looking for a replacement... Thule said the article no is: Article no. 14908

Hey Dee! I recommend the Replacement Dual Force Strut # TH14933 for your Thule Adventurer cargo box. This replaces the older discontinued strut 14908, and we've had customers successfully install it on their Adventurer boxes. I've attached a picture from another customer showing how it fits their Adventurer.

Dee, In my experience, NOT all Thule lift hinges are the same. It appears that there are differences in dimensions and spring tensions. I had replaced a lift/hinge on a newer box with an older box hinge. Due to the differences, the box was more difficult the close and seemed to not stay completely closed. Checking Thule’s website will let you know the exact replacement part # needed. Hope this helps.

Have the same box in the picture, have one break every couple years ,I keep 2 on stand by. The th14933 works well , I use a large set of pipe pliers to squeeze that silver hinge ball on to the coup.
