You picked out a beautiful campsite for the weekend, a nice place to pause and relax. But before you can enjoy it, you have a whole checklist for getting your RV set up at your campsite. Getting your manual retractable awning extended is one of those tedious chores. Wrestling with your heavy canopy as you crank it all the way out, turn by turn, is exhausting and takes forever. It's time to find a better way to do this.

Solera 18V Battery-Powered RV Awning Conversion Kit Switch

With a battery-powered awning, there's no bother and there's no effort: push a button and your awning rolls in and out, just like that. It's perfect for dry camping when you don't want to drain your RV's battery. It gives you all the convenience of a powered awning without losing the independence from electricity that a manual awning gives you. Fully charged, these arms provide 20 to 25 uses before needing to be charged again (charge for 48 hours). If you ever run out of charge and need to get the awning back into place, there's a manual override built into the drive head that you can use to retract or extend your awning with a power drill (not included). No wiring is required, which makes for an easy installation.

Note: The manual override function is not available on 2017 Forest River Cherokee campers.

Best of all, this conversion kit is a great economical option. You don't need to buy new fabric or a new roller to upgrade to a power awning. You just need these new awning arms and endcaps, and you're good to go.

Automatic Rain Dump

One thing that can quickly ruin your camping trip is a broken awning. It's not easy or cheap to replace, and you can't really enjoy your patio without one. A big hazard to a healthy awning is rain: water pools in the fabric, stretching it out and putting strain on the arms with extra weight it wasn't designed to hold. Next thing you know, the fabric rips - the arms snap - the whole awning comes crashing down, slamming against your RV and leaving you with a big and costly problem.

For traditional awnings, it's up to you to run out in the rain and lower one of the arms yourself. If you're away from your RV when it starts to rain, you can only hope your awning isn't damaged when you get back. Solera awning arms are smarter than that. This conversion kit comes equipped with an automatic rain dump function. As soon as rainwater starts to pool in the fabric, one of the arms will automatically drop, giving your awning a pitched angle. The rainwater will then run off to one side, taking the pressure off your awning and your mind.

Manual Pitch Adjustment

Solera 18V Battery-Powered RV Awning Manual Pitch Adjustment

It's hard to get your awning in just the right place to keep you in the shade all day, especially with those awnings that are pretty high off the ground. Sometimes you need just a little slant to your awning to keep the sun out of your eyes. The manual pitch adjustment built into these arms gives you that option. Simply pull on one of the arms at the friction joint to drop that corner. It comes down easily and holds itself there for as long as you need it. When it's time to retract your awning, there's no need to readjust it; the awning will slide back into place.

This product had shipping damage when received, did not hamper the products performance. Easy to install, and works as advertised. Love the ease of use. My canopy is a 19 footer, its heavy. I would recommend this conversion for all trailer owners.

Still working great. We live in our trailer, and its a little windy here I have to open and close the canopy a few times a week. This product has made my life much easier. Good quality, easy to install.

Great instructions, easy install, works

by:

Great product! The only issue I had was with the battery. The item I received was an older product and the battery must have been sitting a while. Anyway I contacted the company and they sent me a new battery. Love it! Easy to follow instructions. Thanks!

by:

I purchased this power awning a year ago to replace my manual awning and installed it with some help from my wife. Easy to follow online instructions are available. I used my existing vinyl as it was only a year old and I also reused the main tube the awning rolls up on. I just replaced the arms with the power awning arms. I chose this awning because I didn't want to worry about connecting to my coachs electrical system. I wish I would've upgraded years ago! My wife never liked putting the old awning up or down and it was one of the tasks reserved for me. Now if I'm away from the RV and she is worried about the wind picking up, she puts the awning up or down with the press of a button. Love it.
I don't normally do revievws. Installed on a 2009 42' Weekend Warrior 5th wheel.

by:

Straight forward installation instructions. I installed it myself by making an end support yoke. It took me about 4 hours including the existing manual awning removal. I’m 73 years old.

by:

Great product, great customer support. Mine came with a bad battery and one phone call to the manufacturer and they sent me a new battery.
Down side....
1. It took over a month to get the battery (backordered).
2. While waiting for the battery I used a cordless drill to open & close the awning. This worked a couple times and then stripped out the gears on the awning. I ended up taking apart and welding them together and now I've had it working for almost a year with no issues.
Gave 4 stars because its a great product once I worked out the bugs and I'm not sure if the bugs were caused by me or the manufacturer.

by:

Awesome product. Thanks to Bob and his crew for the great install. See the install video.
