Pivoting Upright Arms with Adjustable Tire Grips

Inno Tire Hold pivoting upright arms

The Tire Hold has pivoting upright arms with adjustable tire grips that grab your bikes firmly by the wheels - not the frames. These grips allow you to rapidly load and unload your bikes, and they won't scratch or scuff the paint. The grips have slots on the inside so you can adjust them to accommodate the wheel size of each bike.

To load your bikes simply set the tire grips to the correct tire size, set your bikes on the trays, rotate the upright arms against the tires, and press down on the tire grips until they're snug.

Inno Tire Hold pivoting upright arms

The arms are secured by ratcheting mechanisms that slide along the trays. Simply press the silver button on each mechanism to release and slide.

Grooved Wheel Trays

Inno Tire Hold wheel tray

The wheel trays have 3 grooves in the track that accommodate narrow 18c road bike tires up to 3" wide mountain bike tires. The Tire Hold doesn't have cradles for the wheels like most platform-style bike racks have. This allows you to position your bikes on the rack exactly where you want them, not where the cradles dictate you place them. This helps prevent your handlebars and other bike parts from bumping into each other.

Folding and Tilting Design

Inno Tire Hold folded away from vehicle

The rack tilts down - with or without bikes loaded - so you can access your vehicle's rear cargo area.

Inno Tire Hold front-mounted hand lever

The front-mounted hand lever on the base is easily accessible even with your bikes loaded. No more crawling through bikes or squeezing between the rack and the vehicle to hit the tilt-release lever. Simply squeeze it until you see the red indicator, then lower the rack. When you raise the rack back up you will hear a click and the red indicator will disappear.

Inno Tire Hold folding up against vehicle

When the rack is unloaded you can squeeze the hand lever to fold it up for storage. This makes it easier to park in small lots at the trail head or in cramped parking garages, and it keeps the rack out of the way of other vehicles and riders.

Tool-Free Installation with Anti-Rattle Device

Inno Tire Hold anti rattle device

The hand knob at the base of the rack lets you tighten the shank in your receiver. Just slide the shank into your hitch, insert the hitch pin, and turn the knob until snug. The knob deploys an anti-rattle wedge at the tip of the shank to help take play out of the hitch connection.

Inno Tire Hold integrated cable lock

You can set the integrated stopper so that the shank automatically aligns with your hitch pin hole. The first time you install the rack you can adjust the sliding stopper so that it touches the face of your hitch. Then each time you install it going forward it's set up so that the hole in the shank automatically lines up with the hitch pin hole. This prevents you from having to bend down and check for alignment each time you install the rack on your vehicle.

Inno Tire Hold integrated cable lock

The rack also has a removable sleeve that lets you convert the shank for use in 1-1/4" hitches. Use the included Allen key to remove the sleeve from the shank.

Complete Security for Bikes and Rack

Inno Tire Hold loaded on vehicle

The hand knob on the front of the rack has a keyed lock that secures the rack to your vehicle. To secure your bikes to the rack, run the thick steel cable through your bikes' frames and tighten the hand knob down over the cable's looped end.

Loved it so much we ordered it twice! We had our first rack 3 years and re-ordered after we were rear ended and the rack was damaged.
Our e-bikes go on and off easily- assembly was easy.
We have a 2020 Toyota Highlander and this rack works beautifully - in the photo I have blacked out our license plate state and number. I put reflective stickers on the rack tire holder bar, as our back license plate is maybe difficult to see with the bikes in place. We wouldn’t need to, but we also remove our bike batteries to lighten the load and reduce road and weather spray during our 1,900 mile trips.
We LOVE that the bikes tip away so we can access the tailgate without removing the bikes!! Best bike rack ever.

by:

Holds bikes securly. Easy to load. Tilt function great for tailgate access. Think there should be a 2" post option so will handle switch to electric bikes that weigh about double the existing bikes.

Hitch is still working as designed. The rack seems to jiggle around a lot. I think it would be a better product if the hitch bar Was the same size as the hitch and the lock was on the hitch pin. That would make the rack more stable. Ive been putting a couple of 36 lb electric assist bikes on it recently without any problems.

by:

We've used this rack at least 20 times now for our 2 e-bikes with a minimum trip of 70 miles & as much as 450 miles with virtually no problems. I love the way this rack holds the bikes in place. It's very easy to use. The only things I don't like about it are: 1. The pin only goes half way in. (No problems with it, but I do use a bungee strap as added protection to keep it it place) 2. The tightening handle/locking mechanism secures into a plastic seam & can pull the plastic apart & come out if too much pressure is applied. For this reason, the security cable that comes with it is fairly pointless. Despite those minor issues, I haven't seen a better rack at this price point.

by:

Overall excellent quality, easy to use and install. We’ve used this regularly for the past year with ease! 4 stars because we’d prefer that it had a standard 2 inch hitch instead of the 1 1/4 inch with adapter. This would remove the little wobble factor which bugs my husband. I had to remove my cute rear bike fender because of the way the tire clamp arm attaches to the tire. If that could attach at a lower point on the tire I would be stoked!

I purchased this bike rack for my 2018 Honda Odyssey. I am very satisfied with the bike rack and purchase experience from etrailer. I received prompt responses for my queries which helped me decide between Inno vs Thule. Inno bike racks is very well build, easy to assemble and holds your bikes firmly by tyre with out any damages to your bike body. I use the bike rack to carry a Trek Dual Sport - Large and Trek Verve -XL. I strongly recommend this Inno for bike rack and Etrailer your purchase.

by:

Easy to assemble. Just need to find yourself a [online] video as I didn’t find any assembly instructions. This is my first platform hitch rack. I initially wanted the Thule Helium but based on measurements from the hitch hole on my 2022 Subaru Legacy, the Helium would not be able to be folded up. I was able to easily place 2 bikes on the rack. I would say based on feel that it’s strong and sturdy and looks nice on the rear of my car. I look forward to using this rack in the future.

by:

This rack is sturdy, easy to use, and I've had no problems with it in a year of use. I carry a 29in and a 26in mountain bike on it and both are snug and secure. It has three positions that it can be in and I find it pretty easy to load. It fits both 1.25 inch or 2 inch hitches (the adapter for 2 inch comes with it) and is easily tightened to fit the specific hitch and then locks in place. I'm very happy with this hitch and recommend it especially for carbon bikes which should never be put on a hanging rack.

Still Great!

by:

Great communication from etrailer great service if only UPS was 10% as good… multiple tracking numbers, confusing, cryptic notes… rack was sent back to vendor on two different tracking numbers. Said it was delivered when it wasn’t then another tracking notice a day later saying will be delivered in a couple days. Finally arrived and it is a solid noise free rack that is a better quality than the Thule I have on my truck.A+ for etrailer and the rack... ups not so much.

by:

Makes loading and unloading your bike a breeze. No messing with tire straps, frame locking do-dads or any other type of nonsense. Just throw the bike on, ratchet down the tire lock arms and you are good to go. The whole things tilts down so you can get access to your trunk. I have this on a Tesla Model 3 and I have no problems accessing my trunk with a bike in the closest position to the car. The trays fold up when not in use.

by:

Exactly what I needed! Aside from the lack of locking abilities via a hitch pin (which I was well aware of) this thing fits the bill. Solid and sturdy! I’m not sure I would leave the carrier or bike on for prolonged periods or in sketchy areas due to the provided locking mechanisms but it does just what it should!

by:

Arrived fast! Easy to put together! Seems solid in the hitch but I did buy a anti rattle tightner just in case. Great design easy to load bikes and secure them. I always enjoy buying from etrailer! In some reviews it was said the rack is tilted not on my Outback perfectly level. Bill

Now I am using this rack for our new e-bikes! Even though the e-bikes have fenders I can use it. The front fender is short so the tire hold works. On the back tire I shimmed the fenders so it would work and use Velcro straps as an additional tie down! It easily holds our two 50lb. bikes!

by:

It was time for a rack upgrade and I have a buddy who’s had an Inno Rack for a while now, and I always liked the set up. Ordered mine via etrailer and it actually delviered sooner than I expected. I love it. I should’ve ordered one a long time ago.

by:

Excellent bike rack. Easy to put together out of the box. Easy and convenient to mount on vehicle. Allows you to make adjustments to bike position so bikes never rub together.

by:

This is the perfect rack for our needs. We had to return our first other-brand rack because as a small person I couldn't get the bike on the rack and secure it easily without help. The Inno is easy to install and SO easy to place the bikes on and secure. So glad we switched - makes life a lot easier and bike riding a pleasure.

by:

It holds up to 2 bikes securely but it's heavy and awkward for one person to mount and dismount. It may be a good choice if you plan to leave it in place all the time and just fold it up when it's not in use.

I think that part # SA4025F would be a good alternative if you are looking. It is similar in price but is more than 13 pounds lighter. It has the same towing capabilities and weight ratings and even has the tilting feature as well.

Sorry, but it was just too heavy and awkward to put on and take off every time I drove somewhere to ride. I sold it and bought a Yakima Singlespeed instead.

This rack is the second hitch-mounted platform bike rack we purchased. The first had been difficult to use and more difficult to adjust even when we bought it; it became even more of a pain to use as it quickly accumulated surface rust over the winter. In contrast, neither my wife nor I have had any difficulty using the Inno Tire Hold Rack. We have carried multiple sizes of bicycle without a problem. We especially like the fact that the bikes can be moved to the left or right on the rack, allowing us to avoid having the handlebars of one bike get stuck on the saddle of the other. Best of all, the rack has stood up to continuous use in the Minnesota winter, and it is still functioning as well as when it was new. This is a great product!

We have been using the Inno Tire Hold Rack for a year now, and we still love it. It is very easy to use, and it has stood up to frequent use and harsh weather.

by:

I bought this for my wife. She has trouble getting bikes on our hanging rack. This great. Easy to load the bikes and folds out of the way to allow it to stay on the car all season. I highly recommend!!

by:

Overall i would have to rate this purchase a disappointment. Product wise, i purchased this rack to to carry 2 standard 700 wheel size road bikes. The rack barely clamps down on the wheels but they do hold. The racks tilt option is not sufficient and it wont clear my rear hatch. I have to unmount the inner bike to get in the back of my car (not what is described in the ad video). since i didnt think this rack would work for my needs i contacted etrailer the day after i received it to see what my options were. I was told i could return the rack at my expense which was $xxx. Not very happy to pay xxx for a product thats not properly advertised. Im not trying to bag on etrailer since i just gave them a 5 star review on the hitch i purchased from them 5 day prior. Im just being honest so others can consider on the product itself and etrailers return policy. What makes all this so frustrating is that i ended up finding the same rack on [online store] for the same price with eligible free returns!! should have gone with [online store] since i dont have xxx+ dollars to throw away. Disappointed on this one etrailer!

When it comes to using a hitch mount bike rack, we highly recommend measuring before purchasing especially if it includes a tilt option. You will need to measure from the hitch pin hole of your hitch to the end of your bumper. Compare that with the hitch pin hole to closest point of bike rack measurement of the bike rack itself and that will give you an idea of if it will fit your car or not. For checking to make sure that the tilt option would be clear enough, we recommend measuring the hatchback itself during the opening process. Your best option if you are wanting to have access to the trunk, would be to use a swing-away rack option, like part # SAR36VR. This will swing completely out of the way of the hatchback.

by:

So far it's working . A little flimsy for e-bikes. I'm carrying
Two e-bikes 110 lbs total weight. Rocking seems to loosen the hitch mechanism due to bumps
On the road or driveways.
To counter act the rocking I use a ratchet strap to stifin
The movement. Also the ratchet locks to the wheels seem to be wearing. Im afraid they may start sliding open and lose a bike.

If you have having any trouble with the hitch rattling, we recommend getting a pair of straps like part # 18050.

by:

Pros: Perfect for avoiding frame damage. It clamps the bike by the wheels, not the frame - no scratches! Plenty of room for chunky MTB tires (mine are 29x2.6).

Cons: Hitch lock pin doesn't work/falls out. I added a few quick chain links to be safe.

After reading several online reviews, and after watching the VERY helpful videos on etrailer.com, I chose the Inno Tire Hold Bike Rack for 2 Bikes.

In short, the Inno Tire Hold rack is affordable, high quality, and functions even better than I expected. Buying from etrailer.com was an excellent experience.

Details:
1) Most importantly, the online experience with etrailer.com, its review and instructional videos, and customer support are top notch. I had the opportunity to communicate via email with the etrailer.com team and was VERY impressed by their process.
2) If you follow the rack’s assembly instructions (there IS an order of operations to follow), it assembles easily.
3) It is somewhat heavy, but VERY sturdy.
4) Once secured to the vehicle, it does not wiggle or wobble, even fully loaded and going down the road.
5) Unlike other racks that “line up” the bikes, the INNO tire hold rack allows you to secure each bike to the right or left of the other, to ensure that pedals/seats/handlebars don’t damage the other bike.
6) The rack is affordable, yet appears to be very high quality.
7) I was doubtful that the rack would tilt downward enough for my SUV lift gate to be able to open, but it allows a few inches of clearance and full access to the back of the SUV.

They ship super fast and have lots of information to help you make a decision on a purchase.

by:

My wife and I ride totally different sizes of bikes. We needed a tire hold rack to make up for the difference. The rack is easy enough for her to use & holds both bikes great. Recently, we had someone ask us about the rack and whether we liked it - it was an easy yes. The only drawback is that we choose to take it off during the non-riding months (when it's up, it covers the backup camera) to ease with backing up/parking.

by:

Very Nice rack!! It feels sturdy and well made. My husband (74) and myself( 60) installed it very easily and quickly, After we were done it seemed a little wobbly, I called Customer Service , Spoke to Jessie, he was very helpful and knew exactly what the issue was, we just needed to tighten one screw- It folds up and down with one click . It's Perfect for us!

  • Which Hitch-Mounted 2 Bike Platform Rack Should I Go With?
In order to install a platform-style bike rack you will need to install a trailer hitch receiver if you do not already have one. I recommend the Etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Matte Black Finish - Class III - 2" # e98841 as this will work well for your application and it has the common 2" receiver opening which will allow many accessories to be mounted. • Why Is the Inno Tire Hold 2 Not Compatible with a Motorhome?
I have a great solution for you. The reason why the Inno Tire Hold 2 # INH120 will not work with your 2016 Thor Outlaw Motorhome is because the construction of the rack cannot withstand the extra forces/torque that is exerted on the rack when mounted on the back of the vehicle. When your motorhome goes over bumps/makes turns, the forces exerted on the rack increase exponentially in comparison to a shorter vehicle. • Comparing Ground Clearance Of The Inno Tire Hold 2 Vs. Kuat NV Bike Racks
The distance from the center of the hitch pin hole to farthest part of rack when folded down is 33" on the Kuat # NV22B and 18-1/2" when folded up. Compare that to the Inno # INH120 at 36" when folded down and 14-1/2" when folded up, the Inno provides some additional clearance when folded up while also extending out an additional 3" when extended which could potentially cause the rack to scrape when loaded if that already occurs with your Kuat. An additional measurement we did while the...

  • Recommended Rack for Carbon Fiber Framed Bike
Because carbon fiber framed bikes can be damaged by a bike rack that holds the bike by the frame (and wheels, in your case) a rack like the Thule # TH92BJ DoubleTrack Pro wouldn't be recommended. I'd recommend a rack that holds the bike bike by the tires, like the Inno Tire Hold, part # INH120. The Tire Hold holds the bikes completely by the tires, and won't touch any of the carbon fiber, so you won't need to worry about your bike getting damaged. The rack is compatible with both 1-1/4...

  • How Does Inno Tire Hold 2-Bike Rack Secure in Hitch
Thanks so much for your purchase of the Inno Tire Hold 2 Bike Platform Rack # INH120. And that is a good question about how the rack is secured to your hitch, as it doesn't have a traditional hitch pin that goes all the way through, so I'll do my best to explain. The Tire Hold # INH120 is locked into the hitch and won't fall or be pulled off due to the tensioning hand knob at the front. After you tighten it in the hitch, which expands the shank, you lock the knob, and what this does is...

  • Can the Inno Tire Hold 1 BIke Rack Be Expanded to a 2 Bike Rack
Unfortunately no, the Inno Tire Hold Bike Rack for 1 Bike # INH110 can not be expanded to a 2 bike rack. Instead, you'd have to just use an entirely different rack like # INH120which is already a 2 bike rack.

  • Comparing the Inno Tire Hold and Thule T2 Pro XT Hitch Mount Bike Racks
Between the Inno Tire Hold # INH120 and the Thule T2 Pro XTR I recommend the T2 Pro XTR hands down. It can handle up to 5" wide tires as opposed to 3" like the Tire Hold, it can accommodate a larger wheelbase (50-1/2"), plus it is a little easier to load the bikes since you have the one arm that holds it in place really well. The other great thing is that you can convert the T2 Pro XTR to a 4-bike rack if you need to do that in the future with the 2-bike add-on part # TH9036XT. Really...

  • Recommended Alternative to Thule Helium 2 Platform Rack Capable of Carrying 60-lbs Bikes
I recommend using the Inno Tire Hold 2 Bike Platform Rack - 1-1/4" and 2" Hitches - Tilting # INH120, which has all of the same features of the Thule Helium 2 and the same aesthetics, plus the 60-lbs per bike capacity you're looking for. The Tire Hold 2 fits on both 1-1/4" and 2" hitches, so it's a great choice no matter what your hitch size and it has a lightweight aluminum design that's going to resist rust really well. This rack also comes with a locking hitch pin and lock for the bikes,...

  • How to Carry Electric Bikes on 2017 Lexus RX 350
I have a solution for you but there is not a trunk mount bike rack that can handle the weight of electric bikes. It will be more of an investment but using a hitch mounted bike rack is a much safer way to transport your electric bikes. Installing a custom fit trailer hitch for your 2017 Lexus RX 350 like the etrailer Trailer Hitch # e94AR may seem like a tall task to get installed but it is one of the easier hitches to install. It can be done in your driveway with basic hand tools. I...
