Question:
We have a 2016 Thor Outlaw Motorhome with a 1 1/4inch hitch. Could you please tell me why you state you cannot use this rack on a motorhome? Is there an adapter we can buy for the motorhome to make it work? We would like to get one bike rack that will fit both our Smart Car and our Motorhome for when we travel. Also we have a 2013 Smart Car, For Two Pure model with a 2inch hitch. Is there any reason this bike rack wont work on this car? Thank you so much for your help.

I have a great solution for you. The reason why the Inno Tire Hold 2 # INH120 will not work with your 2016 Thor Outlaw Motorhome is because the construction of the rack cannot withstand the extra forces/torque that is exerted on the rack when mounted on the back of the vehicle. When your motorhome goes over bumps/makes turns, the forces exerted on the rack increase exponentially in comparison to a shorter vehicle. Unfortunately, there is no adapter that will be able to solve this issue. As far as the Tire Hold 2's compatibility with your 2013 Smart Car, the rack will work on your vehicle.
However, we do carry great bike racks that are constructed to withstand the forces on your motorhome. I recommend the Swagman XTC2 TILT Bike Rack # S64671 (for regular adult bikes/children's bikes) or the Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SE # HLY74FR (for heavier bikes/electric bikes). Apart from the construction that will allow you to use the bikes your motorhome, the combination shanks of both the XTC TILT and the Sport Rider SE will allow you to easily transfer the racks from your Thor Outlaw to your 2013 Smart Car. Since Sport Rider SE comes with a bike lock and a hitch lock, you will not have to worry about theft-deterring security. However, if you want to add this type of security to the Swagman XTC2 TILT, I recommend the Locking Anti-Rattle, Threaded Hitch Pin # S64029 along with the Anti-Rattle Hitch Lock and Cable # S64031.
