We love our new AC unit. Easy to install. Our rv has a thick roof so we ended up using the original four bolts to assemble and had to find some extra foam to seal the two halves together. Nothing difficult. Unit is very quiet and uses minimal power.
Very Happy with the unit and dealing with E-Trailer .
18K furrion chill cube is no joke. I recommend it to anyone need an RV AC.
The Furrion is quiet, powerful, blows cold and was physically easy to install. However, to get my propane heater to trigger by the thermostat HEAT mode I ended up adding a rely. The Furrion FURN sends 12V out when called. I used that call to trigger a small relay and closes the loop on my propane heaters two blue wires. It wasn't a lot of fun figuring all of that out, but it works now. No separate thermostat for heat in my RV.
Amazing upgrade. At full power you can have a conversation without raising your voice even when standing right underneath it. Still uses up to 1200W at full power but it's a very slow ramp up to get there. Even at 600W the cool temperature at the vents is great. Definitely recommend this upgrade.
Looks good. Cools well and us quiet. Directions were kind of hard to follow. But got it installed with me and my son. Ended up not installing the thermostat as it has one built in as well as on the remote.
What a great product! with the help of some of the tutorial videos, the install was easy! The old Thor Jazz 5th wheel I am remodeling has the ducted system, the Chill actually blew so hard dust, and lint blew out of the vents on ECO mode! amazing! Sound was minimal with the vents closed. ordered the thermostat as well but have elected not to use it and will install an upgraded furnace with a separate control.
Much easier to install than I expected and my gosh is it quiet!
This order comes with 4 parts. AC unit, Air Distribution box, remote and Thermostat. One star is probably a little low but there are some significant shortcomings to the system. So by the numbers:
AC unit: its biggest improvement over my old model is how quiet it is. 5/5. Cooling power, definitely better than the old unit but only about 25%. My 40 ft trailer still needs both units to stay cool. 4/5. Fan- the fan runs continuously!! You cannot shut it off!!!! So my trailer is semi- permanently parked. If I leave the AC on even set at 80 degrees (when I’m not there)— the fan running. 1/5! If you try to use the furnace, the fan runs!! 0/5.
Air Distribution box: no issues 5/5
Remote: The remote connects via IR. So the range sucks. It won’t work over 10 feet from the unit. Don’t even dream of setting it by your bedside in the front of the trailer with the door closed. It won’t work. 1/5.
Thermostat: I was told I need this so I could control the furnace. Why my 2007 AC unit could control the AC unit and the furnace from the remote, and now 20 years later they can’t figure out how to do it is beyond me! Anyway, the thermostat is the world biggest piece of junk. It didn’t control the AC unit well and forget about the furnace. It would start the fan on the furnace but when the burner came on it shut off the furnace and the thermostat!! Of course during this whole time the fan in the ceiling AC unit is on. ?? Total junk. 0/5. I solved the problem by buying a dedicated heat only thermostat for the furnace. When I leave the RV but still want the AC one I use the 2nd older AC unit. So there’s a lot of good with the unit but some super annoying short coming.
Do you have a question about this RV Air Conditioner?

Sorry to hear that, Mark. I know the fan runs for higher efficiency and better dehumidification, but I can also see than being somewhat annoying. I suppose you could install a kill switch on the power wire for when you wanted everything to be truly off, but that seems a little extreme. I hadn't heard the distance on the remote was so limited. IR remotes typically have 15 to 30 feet of useable distance (as long as they have line of sight) and 10 feet definitely isn't great. This will be a weird question, but what kind if batteries are you using in the remote? I am a firm believer in Energizer batteries and have found them to out perform pretty much any other battery I have used. Just stay away from the lithium ones. They can make remotes act weird for some reason (they made my TV remote and home alarm key pad have minds of their own and they didn't last very long). I have been hearing and seeing mixed results for the wall mounted thermostat though. Seems like it either works perfectly, or it flat out doesn't. I don't know why this is, but you are not alone in not liking it. I could get a replacement one sent out if you would like (in case you got a bad one), but I don't know if it will fix all the issues you are having. How do you have it wired up?
