Installation
This custom-fit T-connector plugs into your vehicle's wiring harness, which is located in your rear cargo area. You will have to remove the rear scuff panel, storage trim panel, and side trim panel to access this harness. Once you've plugged in the connector, open your fuse box and locate the fuse position indicated in the instructions. Then insert the included 10-amp fuse.
Once installation is complete, the 4-way connector will be stowed in an out-of-the-way location within your trunk.
It is recommended that you use a small amount of grease on all electrical connections - the plugs on your automobile and the 4-pole connector itself - to help prevent corrosion.
A tail light converter is built into this T-connector. This converter is a circuit-protected, battery-powered unit that bypasses the electrical routes that are used by a basic wiring harness. As a result, there is virtually no draw on your tail light circuits.
Because most trailers run on a two-wire system - wherein the brake and turn signals are carried on one wire - the separate brake and turn signals from your vehicle's three-wire system need to be combined so they are compatible with the wiring system of the trailer. This converter combines the brake and turn signal functions of your automobile so that they run on one wire to properly activate your trailer's tail lights. Note: This will not affect how the tail lights on your vehicle operate.
Curt builds each tail light converter using surface-mount technology (SMT). This method of construction involves soldering electronic components directly to the surface of a printed circuit board. SMT eliminates the need for leads, which are used in older through-hole technology. The result is a circuit board that is smaller yet provides more routing area and that offers superior performance, reliability and durability.
Circuit boards constructed using SMT have been shown to perform better under rough conditions with excessive vibration than those made using the through-hole method. And where would vibration be more likely to occur than in towing applications? Curt converters also produce less heat, leading to increased durability and longer life. In addition, lower levels of resistance ensure better performance, especially for parts that operate at higher frequencies.
Each Curt circuit board is made using high-quality components that are pieced together in the most technologically savvy fashion, leading to greater predictability and reliability in functioning.

Excellent experience once again buying from etrailer. Web site is easy to navigate, video's make it easy to install, outstanding quality and fast delivery. Love their support and follow-up support ensuring a happy customer. Have recommended to several of my friends.
I ordered a complete trailer hitch and wiring harness for both of my vehicles. No fault of etrailer but one hitch's packaging was damaged during delivery. After ascertaining the hitch wasn't damaged and all the pieces were there, so I didn't make a big deal out of it. I had it installed, and it looks great. The only thing since I went with the etrailer brand because it was made in America, I wish the hitch had bracket to hold the four flat wiring bracket already on the hitch so it could be the powder coat matte black finish too. It is not a big deal because I ended up getting a bracket from etrailer but it is a gloss black. The one thing I would do different was to install the hitch myself. I just didn't have the time, the space in my garage or any help to get the hitch on.
Your products and helpful technicians are great. The videos regarding my CR-V are
optimistic and in certain spotsincomplete. Access difficulty and moving / removal of interior panels was difficult-to
say the least. Hitch installation: removing the rubber hangers by the mufflers was
NOT easy-though ET technicians make it look easy. The wiring harness: on a difficultly scale of 1-10 is a 15. The hitch is about a 12. IF Honda made the pigtail
6 long, not 2, a LOT of the harness difficulty would have been negated. Getting that brown tape off the factory white plug was difficult and tiresome.
The wiring harness is well made and a good value. I bought this to accompany the Curt 13397 hitch (also from etrailer) for my 2025 Honda CR-V. The installation instructions are sufficient but the pictures are dark and hard to interpret. I checked the videos on your website but the most recent is for a 2024 model year hybrid and differs significantly from my car. There are also no videos available on the Curt website. I did some searching and located an excellent video from U-Haul which guided me through the process step by step.
Also, some videos and comments refer to installing a 20A fuse in the under-dash fuse block (also specified in the Honda owners manual) but a 15A is included in the kit and it functions ok.
2026 CRV Touring Hybrid. Just follow the video instructions and you will be fine. One note, The Honda plug is held in place with some brown heavy duty electrical tape. I thought it was in a plastic holder and I cold not get it out until I finally got a better look at it and realized it was tape and very difficult to cut. The dash fuse box is not the easiest to find. It is located on the far left side just inside the dash panel. Once you stand on your head and can see under the dash it is easy to locate Fuse #17, third row second fuse down.

Thanks for the tips, we (and anybody else who comes across this later) will certainly appreciate it!!
I haven’t received my order yet and that is not a complaint as I just placed the order. The reason for the comment is that I honestly saw a similar trailer wiring set available from the Bezos website at a lower price but I have been surprised by some of the low quality items I have gotten from that site at times so I wanted to say I have more confidence in this seller with their more detailed information with videos on installation. I already know how to wire the hitch and feel comfortable doing it myself. That alone is worth any small cost difference.
High quality wiring harness. Works very well.
Easy to get to wiring and was truly plug and play on my 25 hybrid CRV touring. I ran it out the rear of the floor through a rubber grommet, just needed to open that hole a bit with a dremel to get the plug to fit through, rubber grommet back in and some silicone, then used the curt harness holder for the plug end.
Very easy install with the provided instructions and video. The part fit perfectly in the factory wiring harnes.
Easy to choose the correct trailer wiring harness for my vehicle on their website. Great follow up throughout the delivery progress. Easy to install instructions. Everything required to complete the installation was included in the kit.
Plug and play harness . Worked great . A must .
Easy to install. It would have been better to explain the purpose of the 15 amp fuse. I had to call to find out what it was for. It goes into the fuse block under the driver’s side dash. It was rows down and 3rd slot over. (See photo below) Once the fuse was installed the lights worked great.
Very easy to install etrailer video more helpful than the instructions
Note that on my 22 CRV Hybrid AWD there are two white connectors held with brown tape to the wiring harness. One small connector with two wires behind the lower panel and another larger white connector taped to the harness with brown tape behind the upper panel. The larger connector is the only one that will fit in the trailer wire harness.
Installation was pretty straight forward, the most difficult part was finding an exact match for my Honda CRV hybrid on the website, information was generic at the time and cross referenced two connectors that obviously were not for the same connection; maybe they have cleared that up by now. The installation was not difficult at all, save the fact that the OEM connection was hidden behind the interior body sheet metal.
Instructions were perfect.
Purchased to connect trailer lights to CR/V. Directions were simple to follow and light connections to the device fit my Honda as advertised. Etrailer is my towing go to supplier.
Thanks for checking with me about the CURT Custom Fit Vehicle Wiring harness for our 2024 Honda CRV.
The online video instructions were excellent and extremely helpful. Even though the process of installing the CURT Custom Fit Vehicle Wiring harness included removing several trim pieces, I had no trouble following the instructions and the project was completely successful. When I was done, you couldn't even tell that any of the trim had been removed or that anything had been altered. The only clue was the new custom trailer harness wire coming out of the rear hatch under the spare tire cover.
I couldn't be happier with CURT Custom Fit Vehicle Wiring harness. It has not given me one moment of trouble and has worked flawlessly since it was installed.
I would gladly do business with you again anytime, without hesitation. I don't usually make recommendations of any sort, but the CURT Custom Fit Vehicle Wiring harness is an exception to that rule.
Well done, and thank you for producing such an excellent product and product support.
Very easy to install in 2022 Honda CRV.

I really like the addition of the lights on your bike rack, Mike!
Great. No issues. Wish it included the 20A fuse required for 2025 CRV fuse panel.
The videos were spot on and made the installation a breeze. I did the hitch on the ground alone with a floor jack and jack stands in about 2.5 hours. About an hour for the wiring harness and testing with the trailer.
The product fit my car, and is sturdy. When purchasing it wasn't clear about how the wiring would run. I am disappointed, that wiring kit was not a thru the wall type kit, that would allow the wiring connection to always be outside the car for a connection. It didnt come with a thru the wall gasket set up, like my previous, and others. So the wire sits inside the car, and when I trailer I have to have the wire hanging out the back hatch, and have to close the hatch on it, since there is no back window. IT is not elegant, and I am disappointed by that.I only found this out after the mechanic installed it, and said that's how it has to be with this one.
The trailer harness works great and easy to install. The hardest part was finding the factory harness inside the vehicle.
Perfect fit. Youtube installation videos are very helpful.
The wiring kit for my 2025 Honda CRV was a very simple install after I located the factory wire harness white plug. Hint, mine was wrapped in brown plastic tape. I was able to route my harness into the spare tire compartment so it is stored out of sight when not in use.
It fit well but your video says 20a fuse in the dash, Honda says 20a but you included a 15a fuse for under the dash.

After a year of use pulling a small trailer and a bike hitch the Curt trailer hitch looks brand new and working as advertized. Funny you should send this follow-up earlier, this week I just recommended Etrailer and a Curt hitch to my grandson!
