When you’re moving a big 5th-wheel camper, you don’t want to feel every bump or hear metal clanking behind you. The 1" thick, dual-jaw design on this hitch wraps completely around the king pin for 360-degree contact. That tight fit cuts out rattling and adds a solid, confident feel when towing up to 20,000 lbs GTW and 5,000 lbs vertical load. Polyurethane bushings cushion the pivot points, helping smooth out the ride and reduce chucking as the trailer follows along.
Anyone who’s ever tried to uncouple on uneven ground knows the pain of a stuck handle. The cam-action latch on this hitch keeps things simple—it opens easily even if there’s pressure on the jaws. Once unlatched, just pull forward and the jaws release without fighting it. You can secure the handle with the included pin and clip or add a padlock with a 5/16" shackle for extra security when parked.
Getting the trailer level and keeping clear of bed rails is all about setup. The pivot arms on this hitch adjust both up and down—three height settings from 16-3/4" to 18-3/4"—and can be positioned either forward or aft for fine-tuning cab clearance. That flexibility makes it easier to dial in your setup for a smooth, stable ride without guesswork.
When it’s time to haul something other than your trailer, you can pull this hitch out and get your full bed back. The base drops directly into the four receiver pucks of the factory towing prep package and locks in place with rotating handles secured by pins. With no rails left behind, you’ve got an open bed ready for whatever comes next.

Hey Kevin. You will never get lost in the woods with us. That is a pretty genius way to store the B&W. Most times I have other tell me they use a lift of some sort to store it up in the rafters of their garage. I like this must better, not complicated and always there when you are ready for it.

We still love our B&W Companion 5th wheel hitch. No bucking and chucking. Easy to use. Easy to remove. We towed the Arctic Fox on a 1700 mile cross-country run and it was great.

Its been a year and this hitch hasnt disappointed me yet. I ran up against a few fairly uneven spots that without the ability to lock the release handle open I am not sure how things would have ended. As I get older it gets harder to do some things that were once easy. It is nice to find something that actually makes things easier.

It has worked exceptionally well. Very easy to get onoff from. Also, it is a brute that makes others look like tin. Very happy I brought this versus other products. BTW etrailer, when are you going to start selling a corresponding pad lock to secure it in the bed? Cheers, Z

After a season of many trips, we are pleased with the B&W Companion hitch, since our 5er has a radius front end, we have plenty enough room to back into our camping sites. The hitch itself articulates in all four axis very well and is quite silent will running.

One year of continuous use of this hitch as we are full timers in our fifth wheel. B&W hitches are the easiest to use and simple. Still the best part in this is etrailer great people and fast service. I have bought several products and will always check them first when I need anything rv or truck related.
