What is the Difference Between the B&W RVK3300 vs RVK3305

Question:

Hi-I currently have an RVK 3300 and am considering buying a 3305 but they look exactly the same! The photograph on the manufacturer site is actually the same photo, with 25kinch photoshopped onto it. Can you please confirm there is really a difference between these two units? If so can you please tell what that difference is?

I can confirm for you that there is a difference between the # BWRVK3300 and the # BWRVK3305 with the construction of the base of the hitch, which is where you get the difference in capacities between the two hitches. The 3300 is only rated for 20,000-lbs where the 3305 is rated to pull 25,000-lbs. They do look the same, but the difference will be in the construction and stiffness of the base on the two hitches.

Both of these hitches are designed to fit in the factory pucks on Ford trucks, like the ones found on your 2018 F-450.

Is the RVK3305 and the RVB3305 just different years? And if so whats the improvements with the newer model

@RodneyA Hey Rodney, RVB3305 is just the part number for only the base of the B&W Companion # BWRVK3305, which is why you're seeing them kind of interchangeable.

@JonG Thanks for the reply. We did purchase a RVK3305. Is there ever a height issue with an F250 and a Cougar 5th wheel? It doesnt look like the 3305 has a height adjustment.

@RodneyA The 3305 has a height adjustment range of 16-3/4" - 18-3/4" so between that and adjusting the height of your pin box you should be good to go. We don't have specifics when it comes to heights and settings between various trucks and RVs so I don't know off the top of my head, but if you plan it out a little you'll be able to tow level no problem!

@TerryB The B&W # BWRVK3300 is 156 lbs and the B&W # BWRVK3305 is 158 lbs.
