2003 Chevrolet Silverado

Very satisfied with the quality of the product, installation was straight forward, more than enough wire if you install at the rear of the truck bed.

Easy install, works as designed, works with the trailer brake controller

Use it with our truck to tow our fifth wheel trailer.

Year later it still works fine
Jethro - 09/30/2022

Installed this when I bought a truck camper. It was plug and play at the factory Ford end. I needed a 7-way at the front, driver's side of the bed for camper hookup. A little drilling and some hardware install and it works great at the front of the bed. I cracked the cover, no fault of Hopkins brand.

After a year, this product has been great. Worked as described and was plug and play at the rear factory Ford end.

2004 Chevrolet Silverado 2500

Great product. Installation time was ten to fifteen minutes even with cutting the hole in the box. This is an excellent kit overall. The zip ties that came with it were a little small, so I used my own. It would be nice if the kit came with the ground screw. I would recommend this product to anyone. I installed it on my 2004 Chevy 2500 HD.

The product is still working great a year later

This harness is DOA. Tested each wire. Nothing works.

I am sorry to hear that this harness arrived not working. I have sent your information over to our customer service department for them to get in touch with you.

2014 Dodge Ram Pickup

It's actually long enough! 2014 Ram 2500 crew cab long bed w/factory hitch, and I installed this plug in the *front* corner of the bed.

Have a truck camper, and its trailer plug is in the front left (driver's) corner. The cord is only about 2' long, so I needed to install a plug in the front of the truck bed. Before ordering, I measured from the factory plug at the trailer hitch over to the rear corner of the bed, then made a 90 degree turn and measured up the frame to the front of the bed. From there, took another 90 degree turn and went vertically to where the plug would hopefully be in the bed. About 12'. Since 10' is the longest I could find, I thought that perhaps I could run the cable more directly and shave off a few feet, and it ended up working. Far easier than custom building a wiring harness.

The final installation route went across the top of the spare tire to the back of the fuel tank, then along the frame until reaching the front of the bed. From there, it traveled up to where the new plug is installed in the bed. There were plenty of points along the way to secure the cable with zipties so it's neat and tidy and not apt to get caught on anything like the rear suspension or spare tire. The cable ended up having a bit of extra length, not much, but a little ... I was glad it wasn't pulled taut!

The install was simple and pretty painless. As others have noted, the zipties that come in the package are a bit too small to really be useful.

2013 Ford F250.
Easy install.
on side of bed.
Won't have to worry about tight turns and pulling on the plug or pulling it out. It was previously mounted on the under the bumper.
Everything went together smoothly.
All parts and accessories were in the box, didn't need anything extra.
Had the entire install done in about 20 minutes.

Thanks for a super product.

I have been using the connection for a year now and it has held about to a vigorous use. I remain satisfied with the product.

2016 GMC Sierra 2500

Got 6 years out of first one. Water and dirt got into wire wrap. Slowly corroded some wire connections. Re- ordered same one to replace. Easy plug and play. I will likely wrap entire wire wrap with elec. tape to minimize and water or road debris from getting in as easily. Otherwise satisfied with this product.

The Hopkins connector that plugs into the factory 7pin connector was full of water within the first month. This shorted the trailer wire harness and created multiple error messages on my dash!!!

There is a 3-year warranty on this Hopkins Endurance Wiring. I do recommend to make sure the factory connection on truck and the Hopkins connector is locked together.

Lance Camper owners, this plug can be used to tie in with the Lance 6-way plug when you are doing a self-install. I spent a lot of time on the phone with Lance, etrailer, and other companies trying to find a plug-n-play for the Lance 6-way. Don't waste your time like I did. Buy this harness, cut the end off that plugs into the 7-way at the truck bed, and run two 8 gauge wires for the 12 volt refrigerator directly to the battery. This harness will run over to the driver rear quarter panel, behind the rear wheels. The Lance 6-way will run from the truck bed, along the rear quarter panel, and end at the rear wheels. You will have to splice wires together for turn, tail, and backup. The colors don't match so you will have to use a test light to determine what each wire is once you plug in at the bumper end. The Lance owners manual clearly indicates wiring schematic for their plug. Using this kit will allow you to set your Lance 6-way up without tapping into OEM wiring system. Good Luck.

Arrived quick and installed it today. I bought the ten foot due to using it for a truck camper. Installed on my 2021 Chevy 3500 dually (8 foot bed).

Easy to follow directions and I was able to run it all the way up the driver's side to the new location.

Scariest part was cutting a hole into my brand new truck.

I sprayed the hole with spray bed liner to coat the edges that were just cut. It comes with metal screws that I sprayed black also.

Took about an hour to install.

2020 Ford F-250 Super Duty

This is a great harness! I had my doubts because it was quite a bit cheaper than the others for my 2020 F250, but the quality is just as good as the other guys. everything plugged up to my factory harness and gave me another plug inside the bed for my 5th wheel. I gave it 5 stars because it was easy, everything you need ( - the hole saw and drill) Its plug and play, don't get no easier than this folks.

The Harness is still doing great and trouble free, I have no regrets.

2013 Dodge Ram Pickup

Perfect replacement for the one in my 13 ram 3500. No cutting or splicing. Plenty of wire to mount anywhere you like.

2021 Ford F-250 Super Duty

Very easy install on 2021 F250! All you need is a drill, a 2-1/8" hole saw, and a driver for self-tapping screws. Dropping the spare tire makes the job easier, but wasn't necessary.

This is the second item I have purchased from Etrailer and couldn’t be more happier. The first was a front Jack stand for a fith wheel. Works great, looks great. This new one is a wire harness for a truck bed, side wall mount plug for my fith wheel. Thanks to Julie it was a easy installment. Julie was a very big help. Thanks for all your help.

2011 Chevrolet Silverado 2500

Great product easy install plug n play. Installed on 2011 Chev 2500 hd to pull 5th wheel trailer plugged over tailgate when first bought but got extremely tight on turns and almost unplugged from truck installed in bed of truck no worries now would highly recommend. Great price also 20.00 dollars cheaper than RV store

Piece of cake install after reviewing some [online] videos. Approximately 1 hour to install. Did the install on a 2019, Dodge Ram, 2500, Bighorn. 2 1/8” hole bit did the trick for mounting in the bed, and dropped the spare tire to run the wire harness. Did come with dielectric grease for the connections!

2019 Dodge Ram Pickup

This product was very easy to install and fit my 2020 Ram 2500 even though other sellers said it would only fit up to a 2018 or 2019 Ram. The price was also better than other large online sellers. I certainly recommend this if you're looking for a 5th wheel/gooseneck hitch 7 plug in bed outlet.

This harness is still working great.
William - 07/24/2021

Easy install, simple plug and play but I could never get it to work. Ended up unplugging and running the trailer cord over the tailgate.

In order to troubleshoot the problem, you may need a circuit tester like item # 40376
Circuit Tester Kit
to make sure that you are getting adequate power to the 7 way. If nothing is working on it then it is most likely a ground problem. I would check your ring terminal ground for debris or corrosion. Here are some other troubleshooting tips in the attached help article:
-- Etrailer Expert Sierra K - 12/17/2021

After a nervous ride home on my first trip I thought I had something wrong on my trailer, until the next time and it was something different
This Time I had to figure it out. It ended up being the connections in the molded plug end nothing I could repair I had to replace with new harness different brand..
All problems went away

Usually Hopkins is one of the best wiring brands. This sounds like a defective product. If you would like to try the brand again, this item has a 3-year warranty.
-- Etrailer Expert Sierra K - 10/13/2021

Product plugged right into the truck with no problems. Had extra long wiring cord. Didn’t have to worry about not having enough to place where I wanted it.

Great!! Wouldn’t have another truck without one.

  • Installation Recommendation For Hopkins Wiring Harness # 41157 In 2013 Dodge Ram 2500
The Hopkins Endurance 90-Degree Wiring Harness, part # 41157, is designed to plug into the existing wiring on your 2013 Dodge Ram 2500, and still retain the use of the 7-pole connector at the bumper. Normal installation would be accomplished by drilling through the bed liner, and mounting the connector through the bed liner in a convenient place that has enough clearance, usually behind the wheel well on the driver side of the truck bed. If it is not then the harness will not work correctly. You can also try different grounding locations that could give you different results. 5th Wheel/Gooseneck trailer wiring harness # 41157 does indeed fit the 2012 Chevy Silverado. The reason it does not say so on the packing is because Hopkins is not going to take a loss on all the old packaging, they are going to use it all up and then put the updated information on new packaging when they run out of the old. So no worries, it does fit your truck. It even fits a 2013, see video link.

  • Problem With 7-Way Socket for 5th Wheel on 2011 GMC Sierra
It seems odd that one pin on your Sierra's 5th wheel 7-way socket would repeatedly come loose after use. I suspect there may be a problem with the male plug end on your trailer. Perhaps that contact is bent, corroded or otherwise damaged in such as way that it grabs hold of the ground contact in the truck socket when removed. I would carefully inspect the trailer's male plug contacts for any signs of damage that could cause it to pull out the ground contact. If you need a replacement...
