Mount this 7-way, RV-style connector in your truck bed to simplify hookup of your 5th-wheel or gooseneck trailer. Harness plugs into existing wiring and retains use of factory 7-pole at the bumper. 90-Degree-angled connector fits into tight spaces.
Features:
Specs:
This T-connector wiring harness uses your factory tow package to add a 7-way socket in your truck bed while also retaining the use of the 7-way at your vehicle's bumper. The harness plugs into the back of your 7-way at the bumper and also into your factory wiring. And it provides 10 feet of cord to run the second 7-way connector to your truck bed. Installing a second 7-way connector in your truck bed makes it easy to connect the 7-way plug from your fifth-wheel or gooseneck trailer.

This was not the solution I was looking for. I was really hoping to retain the OEM 12V input pigtail on my Lance camper, but Lance makes it impossible to DIY, there are no Lance dealers anywhere near me, and even if I had access to a Lance dealer their cost for such a basic job would have been unreasonably high. So after much hesitation I went ahead with this product. I cut off the Lance OEM plug, cut a big hole in the side of my pickup bed, and installed this harness. While this works fine for tail lights, brake lights, turn signals, etc., I had zero confidence the wire gauge was sufficient for charging my camper's internal 12V battery nor to run many internal 12V devices, so I ended up running a separate pair of 8AWG wires directly from the underhood battery to the camper's main service panel, using a 50A rated Anderson connector in the pickup bed. After a full year of service including approximately 6 weeks on the road, so far so good. I still haven't come across a better alternative, so I would do it this way again if I faced the same problem.
First time i hooked it up the trailer plug was very loose fitting, a couple of good potholes driving through town and it was coming out and losing connection. I had to electrical tape it to the flap to be able to use without falling out. Nothing like drilling a hole in a 65k truck only to have the trailer brake plug not do the one thing its supposed to do.
You have everything that I needed for my fifth wheel, and instructions. Very happy that I found your website.
Had to go with another brand from Ford. Couldn't get good brake voltage to the trailer. I could get power to the brakes but not the right amount for what the brake controller was set for. Tested by myself and a tech from a Ford dealer. It works but not good enough for my liking. Controller set at 8 only got a 6 reading at the 7 way plug.
Piece of cake install after reviewing some [online] videos. Approximately 1 hour to install. Did the install on a 2019, Dodge Ram, 2500, Bighorn. 2 1/8” hole bit did the trick for mounting in the bed, and dropped the spare tire to run the wire harness. Did come with dielectric grease for the connections!
Product plugged right into the truck with no problems. Had extra long wiring cord. Didn’t have to worry about not having enough to place where I wanted it.

Great!! Wouldn’t have another truck without one.
Installed on my truck bed for my Lance 650 coupled with Lance bed mount wiring harness purchased from another RV supply company to complete install and saved $600 from Lance dealer install. Also ran 2/8 gauge wires fused to truck battery hot and ground.
Product works great after a year or use connecting the fifth wheel trailer. Install went fast (hour or so), cable had enough slack to position and then some (remainder easily coiled in fender), and it came with everything needed including terminal grease.
This wiring harness is great, it is easy to install with no problem. I installed it within an hour.

Install looks great, Shaun! Happy to hear that everything is holdin' up for ya.
Great product easy install plug n play. Installed on 2011 Chev 2500 hd to pull 5th wheel trailer plugged over tailgate when first bought but got extremely tight on turns and almost unplugged from truck installed in bed of truck no worries now would highly recommend. Great price also 20.00 dollars cheaper than RV store
If you're working with a stock truck, this kit should work fine. In my case my truck had an aftermarket flatbed installed and the trailer plug on the bumper was hard wired, so I had to cut the adapters and splice it all together. That being said I've had it for a year and have not had any problems.
Arrived quick and installed it today. I bought the ten foot due to using it for a truck camper. Installed on my 2021 Chevy 3500 dually (8 foot bed).
Easy to follow directions and I was able to run it all the way up the driver's side to the new location.
Scariest part was cutting a hole into my brand new truck.
I sprayed the hole with spray bed liner to coat the edges that were just cut. It comes with metal screws that I sprayed black also.
Took about an hour to install.
This is the second item I have purchased from Etrailer and couldn’t be more happier. The first was a front Jack stand for a fith wheel. Works great, looks great. This new one is a wire harness for a truck bed, side wall mount plug for my fith wheel. Thanks to Julie it was a easy installment. Julie was a very big help. Thanks for all your help.
It's actually long enough! 2014 Ram 2500 crew cab long bed w/factory hitch, and I installed this plug in the *front* corner of the bed.
Have a truck camper, and its trailer plug is in the front left (driver's) corner. The cord is only about 2' long, so I needed to install a plug in the front of the truck bed. Before ordering, I measured from the factory plug at the trailer hitch over to the rear corner of the bed, then made a 90 degree turn and measured up the frame to the front of the bed. From there, took another 90 degree turn and went vertically to where the plug would hopefully be in the bed. About 12'. Since 10' is the longest I could find, I thought that perhaps I could run the cable more directly and shave off a few feet, and it ended up working. Far easier than custom building a wiring harness.
The final installation route went across the top of the spare tire to the back of the fuel tank, then along the frame until reaching the front of the bed. From there, it traveled up to where the new plug is installed in the bed. There were plenty of points along the way to secure the cable with zipties so it's neat and tidy and not apt to get caught on anything like the rear suspension or spare tire. The cable ended up having a bit of extra length, not much, but a little ... I was glad it wasn't pulled taut!
The install was simple and pretty painless. As others have noted, the zipties that come in the package are a bit too small to really be useful.
Great product. Fifth wheel hitch 16411 with slider 16521 on 2015 Silverado 2500. Everything lined up good.

Perfect
Just purchased a new to me 2020 Ram 3500. Surprisingly, this truck had no towing components other than just a receiver hitch. I ordered the B&W Turnoverball Underbed Gooseneck Trailer hitch and Hopkins wiring harness. Super easy to install yourself. I want to give Amy at etrailer a huge shout out for her excellent communication starting with the ordering process to final delivery. etrailer will definitely be be my go to source.
Great product. Installation time was ten to fifteen minutes even with cutting the hole in the box. This is an excellent kit overall. The zip ties that came with it were a little small, so I used my own. It would be nice if the kit came with the ground screw. I would recommend this product to anyone. I installed it on my 2004 Chevy 2500 HD.

The product is still working great a year later
2013 Ford F250.
Easy install.
Installed on side of bed.
Won't have to worry about tight turns and pulling on the plug or pulling it out. It was previously mounted on the under the bumper.
Everything went together smoothly.
All parts and accessories were in the box, didn't need anything extra.
Had the entire install done in about 20 minutes.
Thanks for a super product.

I have been using the connection for a year now and it has held about to a vigorous use. I remain satisfied with the product.
A super easy plug in install. The harness is long enough to mount the plug almost anywhere you want inside your truck bed. There’s ample dielectric grease supplied but I did use different wire ties than those supplied because I wanted longer ties. I also used different fasteners because I was mounting into an aluminum bed. I opted for aluminum rivets.
Installed this when I bought a truck camper. It was plug and play at the factory Ford end. I needed a 7-way at the front, driver's side of the bed for camper hookup. A little drilling and some hardware install and it works great at the front of the bed. I cracked the cover, no fault of Hopkins brand.

After a year, this product has been great. Worked as described and was plug and play at the rear factory Ford end.
It was bad out of the bag. I didn't notice it right away, but when I did I contacted Hopkins right away. They NEVER responded.
After some not always cooperative back and forth I think eTrailer made it right, but I haven't seen my refund credited yet.

Im not sure why Im being asked to do a review after a year, but nothing has changed.

Fast, reasonable shipping. Item description said the harness was 10 feet long and it fit perfectly where I wanted to install it. Everything needed to install the kit came with the kit. High quality and worked correctly the first try.

A smooth installation project is always the goal! I am so happy this went well for you -- it looks great!
Excellent product, fit perfectly where I wanted to mount it. Does not stick out when hauling landscape materials and lumber with 5th wheel hitch removed.

Works great does not get in line of fire when hauling landscape materials with or without hitch installed. Only hiccup Ive had was bumpy ride on freeway and a 2 hour slow moving traffic backup on the freeway. I had brake message trailer disconnected on dash of my 2012 Ram, pulled over to side of road. Looked at the contacts on both truck and trailer, got same message a few miles later. Pulling over again I plugged into factory bumper outlet, that lasted for the next 2.5 hours home. Now for the fix Using the brakes so much in traffic it had heated the trailer connector end enough to melt the plastic to blind over the brass contact. I scraped the brass contact with a pocket screwdriver to remove the fine layer of plastic off. So far it has worked perfect for 7,200 miles pulling my 5 wheel trailer.
Easy to install. If there one thing to note, it would be to add a caution in the instructions about drilling thru the inner bed wall. It will be easy to drill thru the inner wall to hit the outer wall, leaving a nasty dimple on the side of your truck. A drill stop should be used. I like to use tape wrapped around the drill bit and then around the hole saw. About 10 to 15 raps works.
