Built-In Battery Charger and Tester

The integrated charger keeps the included battery charged and ready to go. At any time, if you would like to see what the state of the rechargeable battery is, just push the green button and LEDs will light up to indicate the battery's status. If it's green, it means the battery is fully charged. Yellow shows it's currently charging, and red indicates a low battery.

Quick Tips:

  • When you store your trailer, be sure to keep the pin plugged into the breakaway switch. If the pin's removed for an extended period of time, dirt and moisture can get into the switch and cause corrosion that could keep it from activating when you need it.
  • A breakaway system needs to be able to apply the trailer brakes fully for at least 15 minutes. In general, the heavier your trailer, the higher amperage battery you'll need for the breakaway.

  • Will DeeMaxx Disc Brake Kit w/ Actuator for Tandem Axle Trailers Fit 2019 Keystone Alpine 3700FL
Hey Wade! Your picture didn't come through so I wasn't able to see what axles you have on your 2019 Keystone Alpine 3700FL. Do your axle tags say they're 7,000 lbs? If so, you can use the DeeMaxx Disc Brake Kit w/ Actuator for Tandem Axle Trailers # DE66AR. This is the best kit for your application and comes with everything you need for installation. If you're still not sure about your axles you can either email me a picture of the axle tag or add the name of the manufacturer and serial...

  • What Amp Hour Rating Is Required For A Trailer Breakaway Battery
Hi Jared, A 5 amp hour breakaway battery is typically used for most single and tandem axle applications. For triple axle applications you'll need the 10 amp hour battery to ensure each brake assembly is getting enough power to last for 15 minutes on full power in the event of a breakaway. You can still go with the higher capacity 10 amp breakaway battery # 3802311 if you want, it's just not necessary for you application. If you want to go with a 5 amp hour battery instead the # 20099...

  • Trailer Breakaway Kit With Push To Test Feature
Hey Tony, That breakaway kit HBA-EBA is no longer a part that is active from the manufacturer, and I do not see any option to add on to it. There are a few we have carried for a while that have that feature. Bright Way has a great breakaway kit available # 3802311, a 1 amp charger with that push to test LED feature. This would be a good option for you that has the feature already built in. Let me know what you think of the Bright Way kit.

  • Largest Available Breakaway Battery for Trailer
I may have a solution for you, but the largest breakaway system battery we offer comes with a 10 amp hour battery # BRW87FR; the complete system is the Bright Way Push-to-Test Trailer Breakaway Kit with 2-Amp Charger and 10 Ah Battery - Top Load # 3802311. I'm not aware of a breakaway system that uses a battery that large and this would be the best solution we have available for this.

  • Parts Needed to Switch a Trailer From Surge Brakes To Electric Over Hydraulic Brakes
First you are going to need either a Drum # DH54FR or Disc # DH94FR brake actuator depending on what type of brakes you have. Also be sure to check with the local laws where you live as many states are now requiring all trailer axles to have brakes if over a certain weight. If this is the case I would need to know what axles/brakes you currently have. You will also need a Breakaway Kit # 3802311, Junction Box # 3430001-JBK, and 7-Way # H20046. You may also need a Flexible Brake Line #...

  • Can 12 Volt Accessory Circuit of Trailer Wiring Keep 10 Amp Breakaway Battery Topped Off
Yes, the 12 volt accessory circuit of your trailer wiring would be able to keep a 10 amp breakaway kit battery topped off like the part # 3802311. Usually the 12 volt accessory circuit of a 7-way is protected with either a 30 amp or 40 amp fuse.

  • 7-Way Vehicle Power Adapter for Activating Low Amp Trailer Lights
Yes, that all sounds correct. The computer systems on the newer trucks require a constant draw to provide power to the vehicle's 7-Way connector. To work around this you will need the 7-Way Vehicle Power Adapter item # FR87PR. This plugs directly into your 7-way connectors and provides enough power from your Denali to register your tail lights and to activate them. I have linked a review video below that will show you how this product works. It was originally designed to power cameras...

  • Converting 2016 Diamond C 10k Axle Trailer and Iron Panther 7K Axle Trailer to Disc Brakes
The D100G axles on your 2016 Diamond C trailer are 10,000 lb axles. Based on the manufacture date you need the Kodiak Disc Brake Kit - 11" Rotor - 8 on 6-1/2 - E-Coat Finish - Leaf Spring - 10,000-lb Dexter # K2R1058D11E which fits the # 008-430-03 hub made after May 2013. If you need hydraulic brake lines I recommend the Hydrastar Hydraulic Brake Line Kit # HS496-252 or # HS496-253. I'm not sure if you have tandem or triple axles so I gave you the option for both. • Rubber Versus Steel Brake Lines for Electric Over Hydro Conversion on Single Brake Axle Trailer
As an installer, I much prefer rubber lines as they are easier to use. The steel lines are more durable but I can't say I've ever had a trailer we worked on come back with a broken rubber hose either. The steel lines are very hard to work with and if you want it to look decent you'll have to cut the lines to your exact length and flare on the fittings again. If you're experienced with brake lines and have the time to do it right and make it look nice then the steel lines work well but even...

  • Parts Needed To Upgrade to Hydrualic Disc Brakes On Tandem 7,000LB Trailer Axles
While the 12" Brakes # AKEBRK-6 are going to be sufficient for stopping your trailer the best option is to upgrade to a hydraulic set of disc brakes. The Disc Brakes will run cooler as they do not hold heat like drum brakes ensuring your brakes work when needed. The Hydrastar Disc Brake Kit # HSE7K-T1 will contain nearly everything you will need to convert to the stronger disc brakes. It includes new rotor/hubs with bearings, grease seals, calipers, brake lines, mounting hardware and a...

  • What is Difference Between Breakaway Kit for Trailer that's Rated for Tandem Axles and Quad Axles
The difference between a trailer breakaway system that can work on a trailer with up to 3 axles and one that can handle up to 4 axles is the battery the kit has and the amount of amp hours it can provide since the more brake assemblies there are the more amps it takes to activate them all. The part # 3802311 is a 10 amp hour setup that could work on 4 axles whereas the kit you referenced # HM20001 has a battery with only a 5 amp hour rating and that's why it's rated for use with 3 axle...

  • Does Trailer Breakaway Battery Discharge Quickly When Pin is Pulled
It sure will. Per DOT regulations, a properly functioning breakaway system should be able to hold the trailer brakes engaged for a minimum of 15 minutes. Past that point, the battery(s) would wear down pretty quickly if you're speaking of a small 5 amp battery like # TK2023. This is why some folks will wire the breakaway system into a larger battery that's also used for a powered trailer winch or jack, which isn't a great idea if you've used your winch or jack quite a bit and the battery...

Yes, the Bright Way Push-to-Test Trailer Breakaway Kit # 3802311 is going to be the system you want to use with the Hydrastar Electric Over Hydraulic Actuator for Disc Brakes # HBA16. The electric over hydraulic systems require the larger 10ah batteries like the one you found with this kit.

  • Could Trailer Breakaway Battery Power RV Powered Jack
If the jack drew less than 10 amps the Bright Way Push-to-Test Trailer Breakaway Kit with 2-Amp Charger and 10 Ah Battery # 3802311 would work decently but typically they draw more than that. A better option would be a deep cycle battery like the part # BRW34FR which is rated for 75 amps. Then for a battery box the # 329-HM300BKS would work great.

  • Recommended Trailer Break Away System for 9000 lb Enclosed Car Hauler
Since you're dealing with a fairly heavy trailer, I'd recommend going with the Bright Way # 3802311 break away system. The kit includes a 10Ah battery and a 2 amp charger. The battery box features a nice push-to-test feature that allows you to check on the status of your break away system with the push of a button. The 10Ah battery is a must because if you get stopped for a DOT inspection, the system needs to be able to hold the trailer for at least 10 minutes if the switch is pulled. I'll...

  • Is Trailer Breakaway Kit a One-And-Done System
Good question, but no, a breakaway kit like the Bright Way # 3802311 or Hopkins Engage # 20400 are not one-and-done systems. You can pull the pin and then reuse the system, and in fact, you'll want to pull the pin when testing one after an install to ensure it activates your brakes.

I'm certainly sorry to hear that; there are a couple of issues that may have caused this, from a bad kit to the far more likely scenario of there being a short somewhere along the wiring, though it's not possible for me to say with any real certainty. I do have to say that the breakaway definitely needs its own battery, which is required by law in most states. I highly recommend going with a breakaway kit that has its own battery, from Bright Way.
