Can 12 Volt Accessory Circuit of Trailer Wiring Keep 10 Amp Breakaway Battery Topped Off
Published 11/06/2023 >
Question:
I have a tri axle trailer, each with brakes. From what I understand I need a 10amp breakaway battery kit. Will my trucks 12v trailer connection on my truck be able to keep this charged? Not sure how amps come out of the tow plug.

Yes, the 12 volt accessory circuit of your trailer wiring would be able to keep a 10 amp breakaway kit battery topped off like the part # 3802311. Usually the 12 volt accessory circuit of a 7-way is protected with either a 30 amp or 40 amp fuse.
