Parts Needed to Switch a Trailer From Surge Brakes To Electric Over Hydraulic Brakes

Question:

I have a dual axle trailer that has surge brakes on one axle. I am wanting to install electric over hydraulic brakes on the trailer. What kits do you have available that will work with a 2023 ford f250

First you are going to need either a Drum # DH54FR or Disc # DH94FR brake actuator depending on what type of brakes you have. Also be sure to check with the local laws where you live as many states are now requiring all trailer axles to have brakes if over a certain weight. If this is the case I would need to know what axles/brakes you currently have.

You will also need a Breakaway Kit # 3802311, Junction Box # 3430001-JBK, and 7-Way # H20046. You may also need a Flexible Brake Line # T0980100 depending on what you have and where you plan to mount the actuator. Finally you will want to replace your surge coupler with a standard coupler like the Demco # DM16680-52 for an A-Frame trailer or # DM13203-95 for a 3" wide pole tongue trailer.
