This custom-fit trailer hitch with a hidden cross tube installs behind your vehicle's rear bumper, leaving only the receiver visible beneath it. Aluminum and steel alloy construction is durable and eco-friendly. Powder coat finish resists rust.
Features:
Specs:
The EcoHitch Hidden trailer hitch is designed to be as inconspicuous as possible. The hitch's cross tube bolts onto your vehicle's frame, behind your rear bumper. No drilling or welding is required. Once the hitch is installed, only the receiver will be visible beneath your bumper. This means that your vehicle can maintain its stylish, from-the-factory look, and you won't have to do any major modifications to its body or frame.
With a combination of aerospace-grade aluminum, steel, and stainless steel, each EcoHitch is made of a strong metal alloy that will withstand the test of time. The lightweight alloy is composed of recycled materials. Traditional steel hitch manufacturing can use coal or oil, which can contribute to harmful gas emissions. The EcoHitch's recycled materials limit the carbon footprint during manufacturing, so you get a sturdy trailer hitch while also helping the environment.
This EcoHitch trailer hitch is tested for durability and sturdiness. Using Finite Elemental Analysis (FEA), individual points of stress on the hitch can be detected and remedied. Designers can accurately test the hitch to ensure that it will meet or exceed SAE J684 standards. The EcoHitch Hidden trailer hitch is carefully researched and strength tested for a durable, high-quality hitch that can resist damage while on the road.

Sturdy hitch, quality welds and finish. Installation videos from etrailer made it a quick, easy DIY job. Entire installation took around an hour. Would definitely recommend. Installed on a 2020 Bolt EV
So far, so good. It arrived safely. It will be installed next month while the Chevy Bolt is in the body shop for repairs. The hitch is for our new, fancy bike rack which will carry our new, fancy E-bikes!

Good deal, Charles! The hitch has a 300 lb tongue weight capacity, so you'll want to make sure that the combined weight of the bikes and the rack that carries them is less than 300 lbs. Please let us know how the install goes!
I bought and installed a 1.25" hitch two years ago because it was supposed to be easier to install. It was fine, but I decided I really needed a 2" hitch with an extra 100 pounds of tongue weight capacity. So I bought this one. And it turns out it was no harder to install than the previous one. I wish I bought this one from the start.
Solid fit on a 2018 bolt with no issues for the bumper sensors or lights. Installation was as described by most reviews; it's a little more involved than just tightening some bolts, but doable for a moderately handy person with the right tools. A 1-2 hour job depending on your proficiency.
It works great with the 50lb two bike tray style bike rack we have, and has weathered three winters with no evidence of corrosion (no salt on our roads though). There are no clearance issues for regular driving, but you have to be cognizant when going up/down steep driveways with severe angles that it does decrease your departure angle slightly. That said, it is much lower profile than alternatives I have seen. I would strongly recommend a 2" hitch over the much less versatile 1.25" type.

Still going strong several years on. No issues.
Works perfect! Fit my 2020 Chevy bolt no problems! Instructions were good, and the video demonstration was also excellent. I highly recommend getting correct tools ahead of time for pulling plastic trim. A plastic pry bar will save you from worrying about the car and they are cheap! Also a t15 torqs bit, that will fit into a ratchet to get into the wheel wells.
Did the install in a couple hours. Make sure your electronics cable is in the right spot to be plugged back in again before you put the bumper face back on. Also be careful when screwing the face and plastic back in, many of the screws are the same size but they are not all equipped with same washers so you do need to keep track a little of what goes where.
My only feedback was that it was far too difficult to find the torque specs for the bumper. They are there somewhere in the demonstrations or instructions, but they should be obvious and front and center.

Thank you for taking the time to give all your feedback and include all the pics! It's so easy to missing small part like plugging the electronics plug back in, I've definitely been there. Thanks again, Reese!
Worked out great! Easy install too!
Love that it's a 2" receiver, perfect for my bike rack.
Build quality is quite good! I installed this a year ago and e-trailer was ahead: if you look at u-haul for a Bolt, they are now offering the Eco Hitch to buy/install.
Unless you already have a host of 1 1/4" accessories, the 2" is much more versatile. For the '23 the installation instructions do not address the little pop-out panel on the plastic bumper cover and imply to just throw it away. I carefully cut mine to fit and reinstalled after the hitch. I will post a few pictures soon.

Hitch has been great for accessories and some light unplanned towing. Only complaint after a year, is that the paint finish was not well-adhered in some spots and started flaking off
Really easy installation. Works great for my two-bike rack.

My car was hit from behind by a Camaro in city traffic. The stock aluminum bumper Wes destroyed but the trailer hitch was fine! I think it saved my car from extensive damage. Highly recommended for added safety!

This hitch is awesome! I initially bought the hitch featured on Chevy’s website thinking it must be the way to go. That thing bounced like a yo yo with my bike rack and one bike on it. I gutted it out for a while before finally caving and decided to search for another option.
I found this hitch and couldn’t be happier. It’s rock solid with my bike rack and E mountain bike. I don’t think you’ll be able to find a better hitch for the Bolt than this one. I would recommend some automotive prying tools to help with certain parts of the bumper removal process and a dremel to cut out the area of your fascia where the hitch will be.
I found the install to be easy for any decent DIY person. Couldn’t recommend this more!

Right on Nathan, I'm so glad this upgrade is more secure for transporting your bikes! Do you have a favorite place you like to ride?
This hitch has worked perfectly for my bike carrier on my 2019 Bolt EV. Install wasn't too difficult.
Hitch is well made and shipping was ok from Us to Quebec canada thanks

this product is great for my car fantastic Thanks
I got this for my 2021 Chevy Bolt EV and got it installed at a local car stereo / motorsports shop for ~$[XX]. Maybe if you know someone you can get it installed for cheaper.
In any case, the hitch itself is perfect. It's rugged and holds my 2-bike bike rack like a charm. It attaches directly to the inner car frame so it's completely solid and stable.
Some information online made it sound like they would have to cut a part of the plastic under panel to make space for the hitch, but on this model it looks like there's a removable panel that they just took off and it was perfectly sized for the hitch to fit through. It looks like it was built in after installation.
I'm just a regular happy customer and would totally buy this again. I actually ended up adding a hitch to my wife's 2022 lexus ux from this site as well after the positive experience from having this hitch installed.

One year later and the hitch is still as good as ever.

The hitch was easy to install, although the instructions only included the 2021 and 2022 Bolts. The directions need to be modified for the 2023 Bolt. Step 1 has 4 screws, not just 2 screws. Step 4 uses a small bolt. I was able to reattach the lights after I put the bumper back on, but it probably would've been easier if I had done it before reattaching the bumper.

The hitch is working out great nothing working loose. Ive only used it to carry up to 4 bikes.
Fantastic definitely built well easy to install aswell
This is great! Installation was pretty straight forward and took about 2 hours. I used the etrailer video but didn't find the instructions (inside the saran-wrapped tow hitch!) until after I completed everything. For my 2019 Bolt, I recommend cutting out a 5" wide x 6" deep slot from the fascia, which is the only reason I needed the instructions. EcoHitch says the difficulty is 10/10, but that can't be true. I think it's a 4/10 max. I used a similar hitch from etrailer for my 2012 Outback and it went similarly smoothly.
Wow, wow the solid 2" hitch for a small vehicle
Very easy to install, location is perfect and has handled everything we've thrown at it in the last year. Paint holding up well, looks great, has seen lots of use!

I love the paint job on your Chevy Bolt, it is quite electrifying and I'm glad this hitch has come in handy for you, Alan!
Professional installer required
It's well built and relatively easy to install but a little overpriced. My friend with a Hyundai Tucson found a hitch for his vehicle for under $200. Not sure why the Bolt is so expensive.
Like all things in the world today, it took a while to get here from the factory. However, since the video posted on etrailer website explained so clearly what tools I'd need and the process of removing and replacing the parts on the Bolt, I was thoroughly prepared when it showed up on the UPS truck. I'm impressed with how it fits and the relative ease of installation. The 2" receiver is just the right height and length for my bike rack, too. Anyone with a Chevy Bolt should have one of these hitches if you want to carry bikes or put a cargo rack to carry camping gear, etc.
Works as we had hoped.
I haul a 100 pound ebike, and a 55 pound one one a study fold-down carrier without any concerns.
One of the best purchases we have made.
Thank you for a quality product Trailer.

After a full year of use, or EcoHitch is performing like the day we got it! Wonderful product. If everything was manufactured with the same quality, then wed all be better off. Great job EcoHitch!
Installation time was very reasonable, just a bit longer than an hour, with two people. It was a simple installation, and based on the recommendation of another reviewer, I used a little of the Loctite blue threadlocker. The vehicle's bumper mount studs do extend a wee bit past the nuts after tightening down, so that was good. I plan to use the tow receiver for a bike rack and my ham radio antenna mast mount. Glad the instructions included the torque specifications included, and an etrailer video on YouTube was also extremely helpful in getting all the required tools ready. I feel pretty good about this installation. We have a 2018 Bolt and needed to cut a "T" shaped cutout on the fascia, basically a 5"x3" wide, then 3" x 5" long. The cut was centered and fits nicely. We noticed on the first cut that was undersized that it prevented popping the fascia back into place nicely, so a careful accurate cut to fit is important.
Fantastic! Much easier to get this installed than I had expected. Total job was an hour and a fair bit was just taking dealing with the facia screws in the wheel well next to the tires. The hitch itself is well built and a great installation design. I opted to make two cuts and make a flap in the very lower facia that I might be able to repair if I ever take the hitch off. The Curt powered light converter was wired and mounted in the facia. I found it easiest to not completely close the rear hatch when towing so the facia lights become both running and brake lights. I did not have to get to the hatch main brake light wiring by doing it this way. This hitch was worth the money.
The EcoHitch Hidden receiver hitch is well-made, fairly easy to install, and looks good compared to some other brands of hitch I looked at. The only part you can see from the rear of the vehicle is the receiver itself. The rest of the frame is well-hidden up behind the bumper. I'm very happy with this purchase for my 2020 Chevy Bolt.
Easy to install with simple instructions both written and video for my 2017 Chevy Bolt. I’ve used it a lot with my bike rack that I also purchased from this company. Highly recommend them.

Install looks great Patrick! Glad our video was helpful as well, and around an hour, want a job? =) What are you mainly going to use the hitch for?
