Question:

Bought a curt hitch for my 2020 chevy bolt. What is the difference in height between a curt hitch and ecotrailer hitch?

Hey Cameron, welcome back! There's not going to be any height difference in the Curt Hitch C11457 and the EcoHitch item # 306-X7359 when they're installed on your 2020 Chevrolet Bolt EV. The top of the receiver sits 12" above the ground on both.

I strongly recommend going with the EcoHitch item # 306-X7359 for your 2020 Bolt EV. It's got a 2" receiver which is going to give you a much wider option for accessories like bike racks and cargo carriers.

What do you plan on using your new hitch for and do you have any steep driveways you back out of?

I put the Eco hitch 2 inch on my 2020 Chevy Bolt. It is great! You def want the 2 inch hitch as this is the most versatile receiver size for attachments, whatever they are. You also want the highest weight option so that you don't run into limitations with equipment. Wiring trailer lights is difficult, have a pro do it, like Uhaul or something. They even struggled with it on the Bolt.

I installed the EcoHitch on my 23 Bolt EV because the 2" receiver gave me a lot of options for bike racks that I can also use on my other cars. Installation was relatively easy and I haven't had any problems with it. I didn't get the trailer light wiring because I don't plan to tow anything with it, but Jay's suggestion of having a pro do the wiring sounds like a good idea to me.

Cameron if you bought the same Curt hitch I did that thing is garbage. It bounced like a yo yo under the weight of my bike rack. Finally got tired of it and bought the EcoHitch and man that thing is rock solid! It’s not even a competition. The EcoHitch is absolutely the way to go. And there is no height difference. It sits just as high off the ground, but is way more solid. I would recommend car panel prying tools. I used duct tape to mark my area to cut out on the fascia and a dremel cutting wheel to make nice precise cuts. Just be careful with the dremel. You’ll also need a T15 torx bit if I’m not mistaken. Best hitch you can buy for your Bolt guaranteed!

I have been very happy with my hitch. I use it to haul 2 ebikes weighing over 60 lbs each. The hitch is solid as a rock.
