Question:

Hi, can the hitch PN24956 support 3 bikes ~40lbs each and a bike rack ~40lbs on my 2020 Chevy Bolt? Thanks!

Great question, Wayne!

Since the Draw-Tite Sportframe Trailer Hitch Receiver # 24956 is only a Class I hitch receiver you'll be limited to carrying 2 bikes with it. Class I receivers are weaker and when you toss anything more than a 2-bike rack on one of them you're putting weight further out which has more of a dramatic effect on the receiver and is why both bike rack and hitch manufacturers agree that the limit is 2 bikes.

For carrying 3 bikes, you'll need to go with the EcoHitch Hidden Trailer Hitch Receiver # 306-X7359 instead. This has a larger 2" receiver and is rated as a Class II hitch so it will be able to handle the weight safely.

@Wayne The Yakima RidgeBack Bike Rack for 4 Bikes # Y02458 is a great rack that will work well with this hitch. If you've been using this with a 1-1/4" receiver and need to replace the 2" adapter then the Kit # 8880612 will do the trick for you.
