Distance from Hitch Pin Hole to Bumper on EcoHitch # 306-X7359 for 2019 Chevy Bolt EV

Question:
The bike rack manufacturer sent me this info. After I shared your install video. For our racks, youll want to take the measurement from the end of the hitch receiver. If the end of the receiver is recessed under the bumper by more than 3, then you will need to also use a hitch extender: https://1up-usa.com/product/2-hitch-extender?searchid=0andsearch_query=exte This note is included on the hitch extender page - ? See hitch manufacturer for tongue rating reduction with use of extensions. Use of this hitch extension may cause additional wear. Id like to use the bike rack with no hitch extender. I have the hitch on order and an install scheduled with Etrailer 9/23.

Hey Paul, when we've installed the EcoHitch part # 306-X7359 the distance from the hitch pin hole out to the furthest point out on the rear bumper measures 3-1/2 inches. We don't take a measurement from the face of the hitch to the rear bumper but if that's the dimension that the bike rack manufacturer was looking for you are definitely okay based on the the dimension I listed as it is definitely more than 1/2 inch from the hitch pin hole to the end of the hitch tube.

Thanks Jameson. Can you confirm the distance from the hitch point hole to the furthest point out on the rear bumper. The e-trailer install video says 4-1/2 inches. You mentioned 3-1/2 inches in your reply. This difference could mean yes or no to needing an extender for my preferred bike rack. The install video for the hitch states the measurement from the center of hitch pin hole to the outer most edge of bumper is about 4.5” (install video @ 1:50 minutes). Link to video is below.
