Installed in under 45 minutes with just a creeper and some simple hand tools. Didn’t have a Jack or anything but was able to hang it in place and then run bolts through. High quality good looking hitch!

by:

Well designed. Tight area to fit. I have bought several Hitches from you thru the years. All have been satisfactory.

by:

Good experience.

by:

Hitch lined up nicely for my escape. Was shipped fast and the tracking on-site is very nice! Installation went pretty smooth. Highly suggest watching the video. For instance on my year the holes that the bolts are fed through needed enlarging. Only complaint was it would have been nice to have 6 wires for feeding the bolts instead of 4 but I just did. Side at a time. Overall very happy.

by:

Great buying experience and pretty easy to install. (I am a mechanic). I don't use hitch as much as expected but still seems to be holding up great after a year. Good product at a reasonable price.

by:

I am not very mechanically inclined and I watched a how to video on YouTube and within an hour I had it on and its solid! It fit perfectly. Great product.

by:

great hitch looks good and fits good.I am 66 and installed it myself.I am very satisfied and would highly recommend.

by:

great service...thanks

by:

Great product, finish looks great. Installation was fast and easy. I did have help from a buddy that put a few on before and I'm mechanically inclined, so more hands equal less work.

weel built and easy installation. Instructions were easy to follow.

  • Trailer Hitch And Bike Rack For A 2012 Ford Escape
Hello Chris. For your 2012 Ford Escape I recommend the Curt Class 3 Hitch # 13650. This hitch has a 2" receiver which is standard and will give you a ton of options for a bike rack. My personal favorite bike rack is the Kuat NV 2.0 # BA22B. This rack will work with the 2" hitch and it can carry 2 bike weighing up to 60 lbs apiece. So this will work with virtually any bike, even heavier e-bikes. It will also accommodate larger tires up to 5" wide. The Kuat racks are top quality, and it...

  • Replacement Hardware for Curt 13650 Trailer Hitch Receiver
We do have replacement hardware for the Curt # 13650. The bolts are easy to come by, but since you need the square hole spacers you'll have to get the entire kit. What you need is the Replacement Hardware Kit for Trailer Hitches # RHK. Enter the hitch number 13650 in the Hitch Item Number field and add it to your cart. I have attached an installation video along with the written instructions for the hitch for your reference.

  • Trailer Hitch and Wiring Recommendation for a 2010 Ford Escape
For a hitch confirmed as a fit for your 2010 Ford Escape Hybrid the Curt hitch part # 13650 would be the hitch to get. This hitch has a 2 inch opening, is made in the US, and is our most popular option. I attached an install video for the hitch for you to check out as well. Since you wanted to do some towing you might be interested in etrailer ball mount kit # 989900. It comes with 2 ball mounts; one with a 3/4 inch rise or 2 inch drop and one with a 2-3/4 inch rise or 4 inch drop. It...

  • Difference Between Curt 13650 and 13651 on 2008 Ford Escape
The difference between the two Curt hitches is the fitment. The # 13650 is designed for the 2008 Ford Escape that does not have a factory hitch installed. The # C13651 is designed to fit models with the 1-1/4" factory hitch.

  • Recommended Trailer Hitch and Towing Accessories for 2008 Mercury Mariner w/ Backup Sensors
The presence of the back-up sensors will not have any bearing on the installation of a hitch. The Curt # 13650 would be an excellent choice that would work well for you. This hitch will fit whether or not your vehicle is equipped with the OEM 1-1/4 inch receiver. The fact that your Mariner has the back up sensors will mean that you'll need to use the # 118551 trailer wiring harness, if you'll be towing with your Mariner. It's been found that the # 118251 doesn't work on vehicles with the...

  • Recommended Trailer Hitch Receiver, Ball Mount, and Wiring for 2011 Ford Escape
I do not have any information on the factory hitch height of the 2011 Ford Escape, but I can help you with how to measure it. To measure the height of a trailer hitch you will measure from the ground (on a level surface) to the top of the opening. I've attached an article to show you this and how it applies to measuring for ball mount height to tow a trailer level. For your 2011 Ford Escape, Curt trailer hitch receiver # 13650 is 15-1/4 inches from the ground to the top opening of the...

For your 2009 Ford Escape the Curt Hitch part # 13650 would be an excellent choice for a hitch. I attached an install video for you to check out as well. For trailer wiring you would want the Tow Ready Wiring Harness part # 118551. Install video attached as well. For ball mounts I recommend the etrailer Ball Mount Kit # 989900. It comes with 2 ball mounts, 2 balls, a hitch pin with clip, and a carrying bag.

  • What Is The Difference Between The Curt Hitches # 13650 and # C13651
The difference between the Curt # 13650 and # C13651 hitches are pretty simple. The # C13651 hitch is designed to fit your 2008 Mariner if you already have an OEM trailer hitch installed. It will also work for your vehicle whether it has a hitch installed or not. The # 13650 trailer hitch will not work with vehicles that have an OEM trailer hitch installed. If you do not have an OEM hitch, then the # 13650 will work great for you.

  • Fit of Curt Class III Receiver # 13650 on 2005 Ford Escape Hybrid
The Curt Class III receiver you mentioned, part # 13650 is indeed compatible with the Hybrid model of the 2005 Ford Escape. I have confirmed this with Curt Manufacturing. The 2 inch receiver opening will provide an excellent attachment point for a hitch mounted bike rack or other hitch mounted accessory. I have linked you to a list of the most popular bike racks among Ford Escape owners. If you will be towing with your Escape, be sure not to exceed the stated towing capacity listed in...

  • Can a Trailer Hitch Be Detected by the Back Up Sensors on a 2009 Ford Escape Hybrid
The available hitches for your 2009 Ford Escape will all extend a little beyond the bumper, but not by much; only about 1 inch. What you can do to test the sensors ahead of time is to place something that extends about 1 inch from the bumper where the hitch would be. If the sensors pick it up, then there is a possibility they will sense the hitch. I would think it is unlikely since the distance is only 1 inch and a steep angle up to the sensors. Even if the hitch did trip the sensors...

  • Is Spare Tire Removal Necessary for Curt Class III Hitch Part 13650 on a Mercury Mariner
I reviewed the installation instructions for Curt Class III Hitch, part 13650, and spare tire removal is not mentioned. You should be able to retain the factory spare in the original location on a 2005-2010 Mariner. I have added a link to the instructions below for you to review as well as a link to a basic pin and clip, part # PC3, and a basic hitch lock, part # e98880.

  • Differences between the Curt Trailer Hitch # C13651 and # 13650 for a Ford Escape
I spoke with my contact at Curt and he told me that the Curt Trailer Hitch, # C13651, does sit lower to the ground than the Curt Hitch, # 13650. Both trailer hitches will fit the 2005 to 2011 Ford Escape without a factory hitch, but the # C13651 will fit on models that were equipped with a factory 1-1/4 inch hitch. Once installed, the Curt Trailer Hitch # C13651 will sit approximately 13-1/2 inches from the ground and hitch # 13650 will sit approximately 13-1/4 inches from the ground....

  • Availabiliity of Hitch-Mount Bike Rack For Use While Towing Small Trailer With Class II Hitch
Your 2008 Mercury Mariner can be equipped with either a 1-1/4-inch Class II or a 2-inch Class III trailer hitch. There are many towing-type bike racks available for use with 2-inch hitches however there are no towing racks offered for use with Class II hitches that have a 1-1/4-inch receiver. This is because the lighter-duty Class II hitches do not have the capacity required to handle the forces applied to the ball mount from an attached bike carrier. Your options are then to either replace...

  • Trailer Hitch Recommendation for 2007 Mercury Mariner
2 inch trailer hitches have the best weight capacities and the most hitch accessories made for them so whenever available this is the hitch size to go with. So for your 2007 Mercury Mariner you'd want the part # 13650 for if you do not have a factory hitch currently or # C13651 for if you do have a factory 1-1/4 inch hitch. For trailer wiring then you'd want the Tekonsha part # 118551 as it installs the easiest and also has the most reliable converter box.

The Curt round hitches do not stick out too far from the vehicle and for the most part are hidden. The round-tube design allows the hitch to sit closer to the vehicle fascia. • Will CURT Trailer Hitch Part 13650 Fit 2011 Ford Escape V6 4x4 and Is Drilling Required To Install
Yes, the CURT Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class III, part # 13650, will fit your 2011 Ford Escape V6 4x4. The only drilling would be to enlarge an access hole to fit the mounting hardware through. I read the instructions for part # 13650 and it states that if there is access at the end of the frame rail then there will be no need to drill out the existing hole.
