  • Replacement Hardware For Curt Hitch 13591 on 2012 Chevrolet Equinox
We do offer replacement hitch installation hardware kits for all hitches we sell. The kit is part # RHK and you can order the hardware by selecting that item, and entering the hitch item number # 13591 in the field provided and selecting the maker from the drop-down menu tool.

  • Trailer Wiring and Hitch Recommendation for a 2007 Chevrolet Equinox LT
The best way to install and use the Curt Wiring Harness part # C56012 would be to keep it stored in the jack compartment when not in use and then when needed open the jack compartment and run the 4-way out through the rear door. Running it through the floor might be possible, but it's not the recommended way for installing the harness so I cannot recommend a way for you to do that. For a hitch the Curt Class III Hitch # 13591 would be an excellent choice. It's a Class III hitch with a...

  • Chevy Equinox Trailer Hitches - Is There A Difference In Bumper Clearance With Different Hitches?
Hello David, good question. There can be some variation in how far the hitch extends from the back of the vehicle. Depending on what year your Equinox was made, and what hitch you have on there now, there may be an option that will work for you. For example, the Curt Trailer Hitch # 13591 for the 2005-2017 Chevy Equinox sits 4-1/2" behind the bumper. Then we have the Draw-Tite hitch # 76028 which sits only 3-1/2" behind the bumper. So making this switch would probably fix your issue....

  • Recommended Trailer Hitch and 7-Way Wiring Harness for 2016 Chevy Equinox LT
I can help you get exactly what you need for your Equinox. You are correct that the Curt 2 inch trailer hitch # 13591 is confirmed to fit your 2016 Chevrolet Equinox. The wiring harness that will adapt your 4-way to a 7-way is the # ETBC7. This kit will come with everything you need to equip your Equinox with a 7-way and 4-way connector. If you plan on towing a trailer with brakes you will need a brake controller to properly control them. The Tekonsha P2 # 90885 is a great brake proportional...

  • Replacement Hardware For The Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # 13591
Hey Tyler, The Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # 13591 uses M12-1.75 x 40 mm. Class 10.9 Zinc Yellow Hex Head Cap bolts on the sides. You should be able to find these at your local hardware store or can order all new hardware by entering in the hitch part number on the # RHK page.

  • Curt Vs. Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch for a 2017 Chevrolet Equinox
Both the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # 13591 and the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver # 76028 are excellent choices for your 2017 Chevrolet Equinox and are confirmed to fit. There are advantages to both trailer hitch options. When the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver is installed, it is pretty well hidden. The cross tube is barely visible. The Curt has a rounded design that fits with the contour of the vehicle. What's good about this hitch, is that it's almost flush with the bumper...

  • Finding Replacement Hardware for Curt Trailer Hitches
The replacement hardware for the hitches you mentioned is the part # RHK like you mentioned. One solution would be to check out the instructions links for the hitches you need the hardware for and then take that to a hardware store and pick out whats needed from there.

  • What Size Hex Bolts are Used to Install a Curt Trailer Hitch on a 2015 Chevy Equinox
There shouldn't be any factory bolts on the vehicle when installing Curt trailer hitch # 13591. I have included a link to the installation instructions for you and a video showing an example installation.

If you take a look at the linked instructions, you can see a listing for all the necessary hardware for the Curt # 13591. For the 2017 Equinox, the hitch uses 4 M12x1.75x40mm CL 10.9 hex bolts. We offer a complete replacement hardware kit for the Curt # C13591 hitch. Use part # RHK, and on the page, input '13591' in the provided field and choose 'Curt' from the drop down menu.

  • Trailer Hitch and Wiring for a 2007 Saturn Vue
Actually, if you were to try to install Curt hitch # C19101 it would require a lot more work than the custom fit hitches for your 2007 Saturn Vue. You would have to access the metal bumper beam which would require removal of the rear fascia. Then once you get that removed it is possible, even likely, that the hitch will not fit. Installation of a custom hitch such as # 13591 is much easier as you can see in the video I have linked showing an example installation. I have also included a...

  • Fishwire Tips and Spacer Block Orientation to Install Curt Trailer Hitch on a 2013 Chevy Equinox
By kinking the wire it just means you will bend it somewhere between the bolt and the spacer so that when you pull the bolt through it doesn't get stuck inside the frame from being bound up with the block. The blocks do not go in the frame any certain way. Once you start to tighten them the block will turn as well until it hits the side of the frame allowing you to tighten the bolt without it spinning. I have actually linked you 3 videos showing installation of Curt hitch # 13591. They...

  • Threading Bolts for a 13591 Hitch for 2006 Chevy Equinox
Vehicles tend to pick up dirt and road debris beneath the vehicle, so I would suggest cleaning the weldnuts really well. Soaking the holes with WD40 and using a wire brush works well. We have found that a battery terminal brush works great. We also have an installation video on that particular hitch on a 2005 Chevy Equinox, which is very similar to your vehicle and may help. I have included a link to it below.

  • Parts Needed to Flat Tow a 2012 Chevy Equinox AWD Behind a Motor Home
I checked the owner's manual online for a 2012 Chevy Equinox with All-wheel drive and you can flat tow it behind a motor home. Take a look at the recreational towing section (10-78) in the owner's manual to confirm. As far as a rear towing package I assume that you mean a trailer hitch. The trailer hitches that fit a 2012 Equinox will actually fit 2005 to 2016 Equinox models; such as Curt Class III hitch # 13591. But the hardware will have to be replaced since it is designed to be torqued...

For your 2012 GMC Terrain, The Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class III - 2" # 13591 the M12-1.75 x 40mm hex bolts are confirmed to fit the weld nuts of your vehicle frame. If you are having a difficult time getting the bolts to thread, then I recommend gently using a wire brush to clean the threads of the weld nuts. Typically, our hitches will provide the fish wire with the hitch depending on the installations needs. I looked at all the hitches for your 2013 GMC Terrain and all show a fish wire included in the instructions. If you need replacement wire or find a hitch that doesn't include it but you think it would be handy to have we do have several option right here on our website. I have included the link to all the fish wire applications for your convenience.

  • Can Trailer Hitch Be Installed on Vehicle with Rust on Frame
If the vehicle frame has surface rust where the hitch would mount that's pretty normal and would be fine. If the frame has enough rust that the frame is basically starting to deteriorate then I can't recommend you install a hitch. The Curt hitch part # 13591 would be the most popular and best option we have. I attached an install video for this for you to check out as well. If at all possible I would remove surface rust with sand paper and spray paint over to keep it from spreading.

  • Can a 225 Pound Dirt Bike be Carried on the Back of a 2015 Chevy Equinox AWD 4 Cylinder
The tongue weight capacity of the trailer hitch is one thing but you also have to consider the tongue weight capacity of your 2015 Chevy Equinox. According to the vehicle owner's manual the 4 cylinder models are rated for 1,500 pounds gross trailer weight and the tongue weight should be 10 to 15 percent of the gross trailer weight. So at 1,500 pounds 15 percent would be 225 pounds. This is about 50 pounds short of where it would have to be with a 50 pound carrier and 225 pound bike. If...
