  • Recommendations for Converting a Barn Trailer Door to a Ramp Door
  • To convert your barn door on your Wells Cargo enclosed trailer to a ramp door I would recommend you use the Universal Cam-Door Lock for Enclosed Trailers # 383200 that you referenced as well as a 3/4 diameter pipe that you will need to get from a hardware store. For a hinge mechanism, if the current hinges you have are not adequate, I would recommend you get three 1/2 inch Diameter Greasable Hinge Pins # HP12412G to use as door hinges. You might also be interested in purchasing a...

  • Universal Cam-Door Lock Recommendation for Toy Hauler that the Door Does not Close all the Way
  • I believe I know what is happening. It sounds like your door latches are at the middle of your door which leaves the top of the door slightly open. You could use a Universal Cam-Door Lock for Enclosed Trailers # like what you referenced. I would run it across the top lip of your trailer ramp so that it will secure the top of the door as well. Depending on the setup you might consider leaving your current latches and then install a # 383200 as well. Or, you could move your current...

  • How to Install a New Side-Door Bar Lock Assembly # 305736
  • Installing the Hinges on your Side-Door Bar Lock Assembly, item # 305736, is pretty much up to you and the construction of your trailer. You will need to purchase appropriate hardware to install the Side-Door Bar Lock that you purchased. It is best if you can find a sound structural support in the trailer framing to bolt the Side-Door Bar Lock to and still allow the bar to make contact with the face of the door. I have posted a photo of the # 305736 Side-Door Bar Lock, installed on...

  • Recommended Replacement Hinges For Barn Doors On Dump Truck
  • We do offer a hinge that may work well for you. I recommend part # PLR1904-Z. This is a barn door hinge for dump trucks and is made of 1/4 inch steel. This has a smooth surface that is designed for welding. I have also attached a photo of this hinge you can take a look at. I have also attached a photo of the four strap hinges that might work for you. As you can see, these have holes drilled in them so they can be bolted in place for both the door and the trailer. If you choose a hinge...

  • Is a Piano Style Hinge Good for Making a Flap in a Trailer Ramp Door
  • Steel hinge # SH300 should work well for a flap on your trailer. You can't get a custom length but if you need 67 inches then # SH300 would be the one to get. You can trim it to the length needed. Between you and me, go with # H300. It is exactly the same only it is mild steel. The other one, # SH300, is stainless steel. That is why there is a big price difference.

  • Door Lock Recommendation for a Ramp Style Trailer Door
  • If you have a ramp style door that swings down and becomes a ramp what I recommend you do is purchase 2 separate 36 inch Lock Side-Door Bar Lock Assemblies, part # 305736, and mount one on either side of your door. This way you will get a handle and hinge on either side of the door like you want.

  • We currently offer 3 different replacement strap hinges, # 2008-8, # 2512, and # 2212, for cargo trailers. I have included a photo showing each of these with their measurements listed. • Attaching the Redline 2-Piece Roof Vent to the Front Side of a Cargo Trailer
  • Yes, you can mount the Redline 2-Piece Roof Vent, # 9139, on the front side of your cargo trailer. You will want to mount this vent with the vent slots facing down to prevent rain water or other elements from getting into the trailer. If you are looking for vents for the front side of your trailer, then I would recommend the 2-Piece Polypropylene Trailer Vent, # HMAV2-AVT2. This vent is designed specifically for the sides of trailers and is an inexpensive option that is also available...

  • Ramp Hinge Recommendation for a Replacement Hinge for an Enclosed Trailer
  • A piano hinge like the part # SH300 could work very well for a replacement hinge for your enclosed trailer. This hinge is 6 feet long and 3 inches wide. A co-worker here used 3 of the Greasable Hinge Pin, # HP12412G, for a similar application and that is what he recommends using over the piano hinge.

  • Can a Universal Cam-Door Lock for Enclosed Trailers be Used in the Horizontal Position
  • It is possible to use the cam-door lock, # 383200, horizontally but it would need to be placed up higher than the midway point to reduce the amount of stress on it when the door is closed. Take a look at the picture I have included that shows this type of set up. For a lock you could use # BLDL-80.

  • What Size Pipe is Required for the Universal Cam-Door Lock for Enclosed Trailers # 383200
  • The Redline Universal Cam-Door Lock, # 383200, will work great for your 36 inch wide doors on your trailer. You will want to use a steel pipe with an inner diameter of 3/4 of an inch and an outer diameter no wider than 1-1/8 inches. The pipe will slide over the upper and lower cam lock ends and run through the 4 brackets. We had this lock in stock, so I pulled one from our warehouse and made a short video for you.

The center on center mounting holes are 4-1/4 inches apart and the width of the entire hasp will be 1 inch. If your hasp's mounting holes are 3-3/4 inches apart then you will want the # PLR258-101. • Replacement Ramp Door Handle for a Horton Enclosed Trailer

  • Availability of Strong Theft-Proof Latch for Recently Vandalized Enclosed Cargo Trailer
  • We do offer a replacement door latch, part # 158-101. If you used the Blaylock Door Lock for Enclosed Trailers, part # BLDL-80 in conjunction with the latch, you would certainly provide additional theft deterrence. The lock will not turn away the most determined thief, but will likely make them move on to an easier target. You would need to replace your existing damaged keeper latch with the 158-101. Once installed, the lock would install over the keeper latch and protect it. We unfortunately...

It will create a gap between the door and trailer of 2-5/8 inches. I included a video review for you as well.

  • Polar doesn't have any weight ratings on their hinges, but if you alternated the use of a continuous hinge, like part # H300, and a Ramp Door Hinge, like part # PLR1902, it should work well under the 800 lb load you mentioned.

  • Changing a Trailer Ramp Door To Barn Doors On A 6x14 V-Nose Enclosed Trailer
  • To create barn doors out of your ramp door, you will need hinges and a latch. I suggest a latch/lock system like the Universal Cam-Door Lock for Enclosed Trailers - 1" Keeper, # 383200. This will use a 3/4 inch diameter pipe that you'll have to get at a local hardware store, but the bridge-type keeper prevents accidental opening and ensures safe locking action. It will also allow you to use a separate lock like # 37DAT to secure your cargo. We will also need hinges similar to Strap...
