  • Replacement Strap Hinge for Back Door on Featherlite Trailer
We currently offer 3 different replacement strap hinges, # 2008-8, # 2512, and # 2212, for cargo trailers. I have included a photo showing each of these with their measurements listed. I recommend comparing these measurements to the strap hinges on your Featherlite Trailer to determine if we have a strap that will work for you.

  • Replacement Strap Hinge For Trailer Door
Thanks for the photo and it looks like you need a T-strap hinge; we don't have anything specifically for a 1993 Sooner trailer but you may be able to use the T-Strap Hinge # PLR3408. The mounting holes on this are 3-1/4" center to center and the strap itself is 8" long with holes 2-7/16" apart. Another option may be the T-Strap Hinge # 2512 which has a 12" strap. Its mounting holes are also 3-1/4" center to center with the strap having holes 3-5/8" apart. If none of these lengths are...

  • Could Strap Hinge # 2512 Work with Other Hinge Style
The center of the hinges have to be in the exact location for the two sets of hinges to not end up fighting each other. If you really wanted to go to the part # 2512 you might plan on having to at worst go to all of the same hinges like this so that everything that works.

  • Is There a Weight Capacity for the Polar Strap Hinges
I have reached out to my contact at Polar before asking about the weight rating of their straps, like part # 2512, and I have been told that they don't really have a weight rating. There are so many different variables into the equation that it is next to impossible for them to give an accurate answer. I can say that they have directed me towards the Ramp Door Hinge # PLR1902 for heavier duty applications though. This is a much better application for a ramp as the stap hinges are meant...

  • Removing Old Strap Hinges on Cargo Trailer that Use Rivets to Secure
You are going to have to drill out the old hardware that is holding your hinges to your cargo trailer currently as they are basically rivets. The strap hinge replacements part # 2512 that you referenced will work really well for your setup as replacements. Best option will be to determine the type of wood and dimensions of your current doors and then go with wood that matches that. You could use larger rivets to attach the hinges or use carriage bolts ran through the hinges and secured...

  • Possible Solution to Fix Sagging Trailer Doors
You will have to determine where the sag is coming from. Are the hinges worn out? If so, you would need to replace them. We have strap hinges like the part # 2512 which are commonly what is found on barn style trailer doors.

  • Replacement Stainless Steel T-Strap Hinges For Enclosed Trailer
The closest thing we have to what you are asking for is the T-Strap Hinge for Side and Rear Trailer Doors - 16" Long - Stainless Steel # PLR3416-SS. We don't have any 14 inch hinges, but we do have this stainless steel option in 16 inch or the Square Corner Hinge with Reverse Bracket - Polished Stainless Steel - 16" # PLR2216-SSP. Your other option is to go to a 12 inch hinge like the Over the Seal Hinge - Narrow Bracket - Polished Stainless Steel - 12" # PLR2512-SSP or Square Corner...

  • Recommended Replacement Hinges For Barn Doors On Dump Truck
We do offer a hinge that may work well for you. I recommend part # PLR1904-Z. This is a barn door hinge for dump trucks and is made of 1/4 inch steel. This has a smooth surface that is designed for welding. I have also attached a photo of this hinge you can take a look at. I have also attached a photo of the four strap hinges that might work for you. As you can see, these have holes drilled in them so they can be bolted in place for both the door and the trailer. • Is There A Weight Capacity Rating For Strap Hinge For Enclosed Cargo Trailer Doors
The Strap Hinge for Trailer Doors, part # 2512 do not have a weight rating listed. These are made of heavy-duty 8 gauge zinc-plated steel and measure 12-inches long. For a heavier door you may want to use an additional hinge to make sure they can handle the weight.

  • Hardware Recommendation for Installing Polar Strap Hinge for Enclosed Cargo Trailer Doors # 2512
I went to our warehouse to check the dimensions for the mounting holes on the Polar Strap Hinge for Enclosed Cargo Trailer Doors # 2512. The two holes on the smaller end of the hinge measure 0.4-inches (10mm) and the three holes on the larger end measure 0.34-inches (8.5mm) in diameter. Since this item is galvanized you'll want to use galvanized hardware (or stainless steel) for installation on your trailer. I wish we offered hardware for this but since we do not your best option is...

  • Recommended Strap Hinges For 4 x 8 Foot Doors for Enclosed Trailer
What you're planning sounds like it would work, but you'll need to be sure you have some cross members in the door where each hinge mounts. Since the doors are large and are likely pretty heavy, I'd use the biggest hinges you can. If you were wanting the hinge to swing all the way up against the side of the trailer, I'd recommend using # 2212. A hook and keeper, part # 383400 would hold the door open for you as you load/unload. If you only need the door to swing 180 degrees, use # 2512....

  • Replacement Strap Hinge for 1998 Keifer built Golden Eagle Trailer
From the look of your picture I'm guessing you have the 180 degree Polar strap hinge part # 2512. If this doesn't line up exactly can you tell me the exact measurements of your strap's hole spacing?

  • Availability of Aluminum Corner Hinge for Truck Body that Wont Corrode
The closest solution we have to what you are looking for is the Polar Aluminum Square Corner Hinge part # PLR2212-AS which will not corrode as it is aluminum but the dimensions are a bit different than what you listed. • Difference Between Strap Hinge 2512 and Over-the-Seal Hinge PLR2512-AS
In the case of hinge # PLR2512-AS, which is an over the seal hinge, and a strap hinge # 2512, there isn't a difference. A hinge that is designed with that raised section near that actual hinge part can be considered an over the seal hinge because it reaches over a seal or molding. It just so happens that many hinges described as strap hinges have the same design. I have linked videos on both hinges for you.
