Yes! However there are some things to consider. First and foremost, we want to warn you not to tow if you have a compact spare tire on your vehicle. Towing with different sized tires can cause significant damage to your transmission and other engine systems.
Despite that, the Chevy Trax is one of the easiest flat-towable vehicles we've set up. If that's all you need to hear and you're ready to get started, click here to browse all the supplies you need and see our suggestions! In order to flat tow your Chevy Trax, follow these simple instructions (taken from page 275-276 in the owner's manual):
Make sure you're on flat ground, and your Trax is positioned evenly behind the towing vehicle
With the vehicle running, shift your transmission into N (neutral). Afterward, set the parking brake
Connect your vehicle to the tow bar hardware
While your vehicle is connected release your parking brake
Shut off your vehiclePro Tip: You may hear a continuous chime sound at this point. This is completely normal
Open the hood of your Trax and disconnect the negative battery terminal (the black post on your battery)
Cover your negative post with a non-conductive material such as duct tape
That's it! You're ready to hit the road! The owner's manual warns against driving over 70mph while flat towing, so make sure you're keeping an eye on that lead foot if you won't want to void your warranty or damage your new Trax!
To remove your Trax safely, follow the steps in reverse. Remove the non-conductive material, reattach the negative terminal to your battery, set your parking brake, and disconnect your vehicle. It's as simple as that!

Couldn’t you use a battery disconnect switch vs removing the negative wire at the battery?
@JerredH 766 is on the positive post for disconnect.
Trax manual says disconnect negative, everything I’ve read says disconnect the positive.
I need help please
@DanielC
You're going to want to disconnect the negative post. It accomplishes the same thing as far as isolating the battery and stopping any electrical current.
@JerredH you have a video on your site with a Chevy Trax and it had the battery disconnect on the positive post. What made the video even more confusing was the fact it was about putting the charge line on the battery for towing and the guy said to hook it up on the plate that will be disconnected when the battery disconnect is engaged, make it make sense. Talk about two different ideas for a car and only one will work .
A customer shouldn’t have this to go through this unless each video is made in another state and someone didn’t check notes. I understand why you say unhook the negative because the owners manual says to do it but Roadmaster says no and there’s a quote from a GM tech that says leaving the positive post on will trigger the stabilitrac system and lock the rear brakes up because it will find a ground somehow. I have no clue how but food for thought.
