Can I Flat tow The 2024 Chevy Trailblazer?

Yes! But only the all-wheel-drive models. Generally speaking, flat towing a vehicle with front-wheel-drive is not possible, and the Trailblazer is no exception. If you do want to tow your all-wheel-drive Trailblazer, then there are a few steps that you need to follow. Let's take a look at the setup process below:
  • Position your Trailblazer behind the towing vehicle on level ground, lining up with the tow bar
  • Leave the vehicle running, shift the transmission into N (Neutral), and apply the parking brake to prevent rollaway
  • You can now connect your Trailblazer to the towing vehicle. Once the vehicle is completely secured, you may release the parking brake
  • With the vehicle still in N (Neutral), turn the engine offPro Tip: You may hear a continuous chime at this step, this is completely normal
  • Open the hood and disconnect the negative terminal of the battery (this is the black post). Make sure to cover your negative battery post with a non-conductive material like duct tape. Close the hood when you're finished
Now you're ready to hit the road! It's worth noting that the owner's manual advises not exceeding 70 mph (113 km/h), as this can cause damage to your vehicle. When you arrive at your campsite, you can expect an equally simple breakdown process, so let's take a look at that too:
  • Park on a level, even surface, and confirm that your vehicle's ignition is off (it already should be but it's good to check)
  • Remove the non-conductive covering form the negative post on your battery and re-attach the negative terminal (this is the black post)
  • Re-apply the parking brake and disconnect from the towing vehicle
  • Release the parking brake and you're all done!
All things considered, if the Trailblazer wasn't in the conversation for your next flat-towable vehicle, it definitely should be. The easy setup and breakdown process puts it near the top of its class in ease-of-use, and keeping it under 70 mph is a small price to pay. Be safe and happy towing!
