Hook up your flat tow gear with confidence. Safety cables with quick links let you wrap around the frame to create solid attachment points or add a backup connection if the base plate ever lets go. To choose the right length, measure from where the base plate attaches to the nearest frame hole so the cables route cleanly without excess slack.
Coated steel cables hold up well outdoors, but try to prevent constant rubbing on the frame to protect the coating. If a spot gets chewed through, inspect it periodically and re-route to reduce abrasion. Keep the Quick Links snugly closed and check them along with the cable sheathing during routine hookups.
Plan on the listed capacity being for each cable, and used for emergency retention rather than a towing rating. Verify the product listing to confirm how the rating is stated and whether a working load is provided. Match your Quick Links and hooks to the cable ratings and make sure all parts fit each other cleanly.
Measure the path from the frame wrap point to your tow connection and allow enough slack for turns without dragging.
