Can Blue Ox Patriot Braking System be Used on Hybrid Vehicle

Question:

I purchased the Patriot braking system from you about a year ago and it worked beautifully on my Fiat. I have upgraded my towed to a Ford Maverick hybrid. How should I set the force and sensitivity to compensate for the electric brakes?

Hey Mark, great question but the current Blue Ox Patriot # BLU37TR has a hybrid mode that you would need to put it in for your 2024 Ford Maverick hybrid. This will take care of most of the initial setting issues you are concerned about but aside from that you'd just need to use the normal setup process.

Hi. I had a complete flat towing system installed on my 2025 Ford Maverick Hybrid including the BlueOx Patriot brake system. My installer bought everything needed from E-trailer. I have a question concerning the RF controller. After selecting the H setting what else is needed to set? I can’t find any information other than setting the H value. Can you help me please? @Bruce Once you get it the value set to H all you need to do is press the OK button and you'll be set!

@Peter The Blue Ox Patriot part # BLU37TR does have braking force and sensitivity adjustments in the setup screen for the brake patriot. The large number on the display represents the force setting. If you want to adjust how aggressive the Patriot will brake you can raise or lower that number from the factory setting. There is not really a set number for each vehicle, it just takes trial and error.
