How To Install The Demco Stay-IN-Play Duo SM99251 On A 2026 Chevy Trax With No Vacuum Booster

Hello, I just ordered the Demco Stay-IN-Play Duo Flat Tow Brake System for RVs w/ Hydraulic Brakes - Proportional for my 2026 Chevy Trax. After ordering it I noticed that the 2026 Trax does not have a vacuum booster. Will this system work on this car? Thank you

Hi George!
The Demco Stay-IN-Play Duo # SM99251 will absolutely work on your 2026 Chevy Trax. Since it does not have a vacuum booster and you need to disconnect the battery when flat towing, you will need to leave the vacuum line and check valve open to atmosphere. I know that sounds like kind of an odd thing to do, but I pulled that directly from the instructions (see included image).

George the staynplay brake system is not hard to install, I took my time and laid things out, looked at how they hook up and did the staynplay and tail light kit with no problems. Be sure the bracket that attaches to the firewall is secure. My friend had his professionally installed and the screws pulled out making the system unable to apply the brakes. As to using it on our Wrangler you have to adjust the level of sensitivity once, after that you just flip one switch and it is set. Great unit. Good luck. Randy
