Metal can feel stronger and replace cracked plastic well. Check thickness and rigidity since some thin metal styles bend easily. Verify screw hole alignment and that the surround covers old holes. Hardware or color-matched screws may not be included, so plan for that. Colors like black, white, and brown are available to match flooring.
