RV Showers and Tubs with outdoor shower boxes
Swap in a fresh, clean look fast with outdoor shower boxes for RV showers and tubs. These are designed for a standard 11" Wide x 6" Tall opening and deliver a 2.5 GPM flow, with options for a single-handle mixer or dual knobs to match your layout. Use butyl or putty tape with a silicone seal, and manage sun exposure to help the plastic resist oxidation and stains.
UV exposure and oxidation in the plastic drive most discoloration. There isn't a rating for stain resistance, so placement out of direct sun and regular cleaning make the biggest difference. If replacing, inspect the door and lid thickness and finish quality to help it look better longer.
Measure your wall cutout and compare to the box's opening and depth. Many RVs use a standard opening of 11" Wide x 6" Tall, but confirm screw hole spacing to avoid drilling new holes. If you only need a door, measure the door and hinge style to match a replacement.
Choose based on how you like to set temperature. A single handle simplifies temperature control, while dual knobs are common and can match a standard 4 inch mounting. Check your existing panel's control style and mounting before ordering.
Use the faucet controls to fully stop water flow if the head's shutoff dribbles when the faucets are open. Replacing O-rings may not fix it. Check for debris in the head and ensure the internal valve seats are clean to help minimize drips.
Use butyl/putty tape behind the flange and finish with a bead of silicone around the perimeter. Some boxes do not include a sealing gasket, so plan materials ahead. Tighten plumbing connections firmly—hand-tight worked for some—to help prevent leaks.
