Looking To Replace My Current WFCO Converter, What Do You Recommend?

Updated 06/24/2026 | Published 12/26/2025

Question:

I am replacing a WFCO9855 power converter in my camper to one that is capable of charging LIPO batteries. Which is better, the WFCO with auto detect or the Progressive Dynamics 9360? Thanks

Hey Jim,

It is hard to say which is better since both options are great. The WFCO # WF38FR is fairly newer to us so our experience is not as full like it is with the Progressive Dynamics # PD79RR. The Progressive Dynamics Converter is something I have seen more popular and experienced more. In my opinion I would recommend the Progressive Dynamics for your setup.

Although both would work well, I will have to recommend what I know works well. What kind of camper are you wanting to install these in?

@JimH That is a nice trailer, some of my favorites. The Progressive Dynamics is going to be a great option for you.

@Michelle What Progressive Dynamics 30 Converter did you purchase? The only 30-amp Progressive Dynamics unit we offer is the # PD49RR. It works with flooded lead acid, AGM, and lithium-ion batteries and its rated power output is 500 watts. Its dimensions are 7 14" long x 8 14" wide x 4 1/2" deep so it will need a cutout slightly larger than that to fit. What converter are you trying to replace?
